Something is coming from New Orleans.

For this issue, we are looking for a woman who can channel the presence, strength, beauty, mystery, and legacy associated with Marie Laveau, the legendary Voodoo Queen of New Orleans.

Marie Catherine Laveau was born September 10, 1801, in New Orleans. A free woman of color, she became one of the most influential spiritual figures in 19th-century New Orleans and was known as a Voudou priestess, healer, herbalist, community activist, healthcare advocate, and philanthropist.

Her legacy extended far beyond spiritual practice. Historical accounts describe Laveau caring for the sick during yellow fever and cholera epidemics, providing assistance to the poor, visiting prisoners, and offering support to people in need. She was also known for her charitable work within her community.

Her spiritual legacy is part of the complex history of New Orleans Voudou, a tradition shaped by African diasporic spiritual practices, Catholic influences, and the cultural history of New Orleans and the Caribbean.

DECEMBER COVER MODEL SEARCH

HeXen Magazine is looking for our December Cover Model, and this time, we're looking for someone with serious ODIN energy.

In Norse mythology, Odin is the Allfather, a powerful god associated with wisdom, knowledge, war, death, magic, poetry, and the pursuit of knowledge. He is traditionally portrayed as an older, commanding, bearded figure, often shown with one eye, his ravens Huginn and Muninn, and his spear Gungnir.

So, are you a big guy with a beard who can bring that powerful Norse presence to life?

Do you have the Viking gear? Norse clothing? Armor? A costume or suit? Even better.

And no, it does NOT have to be red. Black, green, brown, gray, red, or whatever you have that creates the right look and energy. Bring your own style and interpretation.

I will personally be photographing the cover shoot, so if you are selected, we will schedule a photoshoot with me to create the December cover of HeXen Magazine.

I recently had the opportunity to sit down with Eric Testerman of The Irongate Home for Haunted Relics for an interview that dives into the story behind his fascinating collection of objects with reported paranormal attachments.

Irongate presents a controlled collection of haunted and unusual objects in a way that is structured, documented, and handled with clear boundaries. Eric has put a tremendous amount of thought into how these objects are preserved, presented, and shared with the public.

The witches' new year is coming, and she's arriving with horns.

We are beyond thrilled to unveil the cover of HeXen Magazine, Volume 1 Issue 2, our official Samhain Edition, crowned by our stunning Cover Goddess draped in black and crowned with a striking horned headdress, lit by candlelight and shadow the way October deserves to be.

This issue is a full descent into everything that makes the season sacred: witchcraft, the paranormal, hauntings, and the high strange, all wrapped in the moody, magick soaked aesthetic HeXen is built on.
