📸 I’m so behind on posting and sharing photos! Between all the new layers, dozens that have gone out, and way too many egg photos sitting on my phone, I’ve got some catching up to do. 😅

Here’s one dozen that headed out this week! 🥚✨

I also moved my other Welsummer hen back into the Welsummer breeding pen. She throws beautiful heavy speckles with little purple flecks, and I’m excited to see what this next generation brings!

One of the pullets from my BCM Backcross pen. 🤎🖤

Because my Blue Spruce line took off, this pen didn’t get much attention and, unfortunately, hardly anyone wanted the backcrosses. 😫

A few of the younger Blue Spruce G3 pullets are still with him in a smaller breeding pen, but I ended up adding another rooster because sales from this pen were so slow.

Now we’ve come full circle… and I need to build yet another breeding pen. 🤪

I’m pretty excited about it… my husband, on the other hand, might have a slightly different opinion.

So… help me convince him! 😅 Is anyone interested in my BCM Backcrosses now?

I’m currently shifting birds between pens, so some breeding groups have changed. Some hens are in the same pen with the same roo, some are in different pens with the same roo, and others have had roos or pens switched completely.

Fertility was good prior to the pen changes, but parentage and current fertility have not yet been rechecked since birds were moved. I won’t be confirming breeding groups again for another 4-6 weeks, so these dozens are discounted accordingly.

The Pure Welsummer pen has not changed and has no chance of mix-ups. The Pink Egger pen also remains unchanged.

If you don’t mind a little mystery and want a deal, now’s the time!

I’m looking for 2-3 people willing to hatch these out, raise the pullets, and let me know what colors they end up laying.

A quick note: the eggs you receive may not be as vibrant blue-green as the eggs in the photos since these were collected later in the season.
Many of the hens are O/O blue-green egg layers covered by my MGBC1 rooster (o/O), who also passes bloom. ( last post of OE x OE is his daugher, but not of these eggs)

Should be a fun little project to see what shows up! 🌿🥚

The only catch is that you have to keep track and report back with egg photos once they start laying. 😁

Excited for some new adventures! 🌾

Today we picked up our starter farm stand and she made it onto the pickup safely.

If it was any wider, it wouldnt have fit in the truck bed - So it was meant to be 😊

Stay tuned for the unloading process... this should be interesting. 😆🚜

OE x OE and got the blue gene 🧬.
I also have a good feeling her bloom will be a very heavy one later. What do we even call this color? Dark Chocolate Bark? Lets see how long she hold on to that ink 🤞
