Driver and Team Highlight : Jake Richards is looking forward to a busy 2025 season, trying to run almost every Grand National race in central Wisconsin. This includes the Dirt Devil Grand National Series , and Plymouth Dirt Track Racing and Gravity Park USA track championships!

Question : How did you get your start into dirt racing? Did you start in a go-kart or go straight into a full-blown racecar?

Answer : I have been around dirt racing my whole life. Back in 2012, I ran my grandpa Randy Krueger's sport mod in the mechanics race at the old Oshkosh Speedzone. Other than that, I spent a lot of winters ice racing but never ran anything else until 2023, when I got my first Grand National and hit the ground running!

Question : Which was your favorite track you've ever raced at that is now closed down in Wisconsin?

Answer : I guess probably Oshkosh Speedzone. I don't really have a huge memory of the race I ran there, but I watched my dad Jeff, grandpa Larry, and uncle Kenny race and win multiple races there. I would have loved to have that opportunity as well.

Question : What is your favorite thing to eat before the action on race day?

Answer : Me and the family usually like to swing through Domino's Pizza on the way to the track, if not Taco Bell. It's kinda been a weekly thing for us since we've started!

Jake would also like to thank his dedicated sponsors.

And huge thanks to my wife Jessie and my boys Jase and Bubba for all the help and support of this crazy lifestyle and we're just getting started!! - Jake Richards

Driver and Team Highlight : Jodica Rupp will be back in the seat of the #22 Grand National for the 2025 season, this interview was unique as it highlights the family aspect of a local dirt racing team, the interview questions were actually answered by Jodica's wife Krista Rupp, Jodica will mainly be completing with the Dirt Devil Grand National Series and Gravity Park USA for the track championship.

Q&A with Krista

Question : How involved is your family with the race program? What does your crew and family do to make sure you have the best shot at winning each night on track?

Answer : Our family has been involved in dirt track racing for about 8 years now! We actually had our first date at the race track! We have four kiddos who love helping out on the car every chance they get. From changing tires to switching motors, they have all helped since they could walk!

To make sure we have the best chance at the track, we go to the shop, check over the car, fuel, and tires, and ensure everything is prepared and ready to load in the trailer and head out for the race!

Question : What is your favorite annual race or track to attend each season, and why?

Answer : Our favorite annual race is the two-day show at Gravity Park. We bring a couple of campers out, hang out, work on the car all weekend, and just have a fun time with friends, family, and fellow racers!

Question : Do you plan on running the entire Dirt Devil series schedule, or are you just running pick-and-choose races or a track championship points schedule?

Answer : We are aiming for the entire Dirt Devil Series this year, as long as all goes well! Hoping to stay at the top for points at Gravity as well, as long as everything goes as planned!

Krista , Jodica and the entire team would also like to thank their sponsors.

Driver and Team Highlight : Blake Nimee Racing returns to the seat of his #79 410 sprint car this year, with plans to run a limited schedule. The Yorkville, IL driver had a Strong season last year picking up 2 wins, and 10 top 5 finishes, and cracked multiple features with the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series.

Question : Do you guys plan on running the full schedule of IRA and racing for points, or just a true outlaw pick-and-choose schedule?

Answer : We plan to run a part-time schedule with IRA, selecting very specific shows with Outlaws and High Limit. As of now, we do not have a set schedule.

Question : What were your top three tracks from the past 2024 season?

Answer : Beaver Dam Raceway , Wilmot Raceway and Plymouth Dirt Track Racing.

Question : How did you get your start in winged sprint car racing? What motivates your team to work so hard both during the season and in the off-season?

Answer : I got started with my grandpa in various cars and moved up to different classes every few years. Winning motivates us.

Blake Nimee would also like to thank all of his sponsors onboard for the upcoming season.

Driver Highlight : Mavrick Ruh will be returning in 2025 to contest the Grand Nationals track championships at Plymouth Dirt Track Racing and Gravity Park USA. He will also contend for the Inuagural 2025 Dirt Devil Grand National Series.

Question : How did you get into dirt racing, and what made you want to race a Grand National over other more popular divisions?

Answer : Being a 4th generation racer, I have been around it my entire life. Growing up, my uncle and family friend had a Grand National that stayed in our shop. There, I grew my love for the Grand National and dirt racing. My dad used to build and race them, and I always dreamed of doing the same.

Question : How many nights do you plan on running this year? And at what tracks?

Answer : For the 2025 season, we have 20 races planned out so far. We will be running at Plymouth Dirt Track and Gravity Park, chasing the Dirt Devil Series along with regular points nights. We will also be up in Eagle River for their special Labor Day weekend.

Question: With the recent forming of the Dirt Devil Grand National Series, do you think having a dedicated series will help preserve the division? And how so?

Answer : I believe the Dirt Devil Series was just what this division needed. With only two tracks running us full-time, we needed something to boost the show. With extra payout, big checks to win, and an extra points layout to chase, I think the Grand Nationals will be putting on some awesome racing this year.

Team And Driver Highlight!
NineSix Motorsports And Jake Blackhurst are back for another run at the Bumper to Bumper IRA Sprints Championship this year, and are looking to move up the rankings by one spot after last year's runner up.

We spoke with one of the two owners of NineSix Motorsports about the off season, as well as 2025 plans and goals.

Question : What was done in the off season this winter , and has the crew or program changed heading into this season?

Answer : NineSix Motorsports:
Most of the offseason is spent replacing worn parts and building new parts and cars. For us, having everything we need with us is important. We live in central Illinois, so most weekends we cannot go back home if we need anything. Our first full season was last year, and it was a bit of a learning curve. I learned what we needed to have and what was necessary to travel. I purchased a bigger truck and trailer this offseason to be able to carry an extra car and more equipment. No real changes in our crew. It’s mostly just a few guys that can come and help when they have time. It’s hard to find a dedicated crew because of the far travel most weekends.

Question : What is your team's favorite stretch of the IRA schedule, and which of the tracks in that stretch are your teams favorites?

Answer : Ninesix MotorSports
I would say our favorite was going to Minnesota and North Dakota last year. We really had a lot of fun out there. Some of our favorites are Mississippi Thunder and Angell Park.

Question : Does Your team plan on competing at all with High Limit Racing or the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series at all this year ? Specifically in the stretch that High Limit and the Outlaws both visit Wisconsin?

Answer : NineSix Motorsports
We will run some Outlaw and high-limit races if it makes sense. We have a few here in Illinois that we will run on off weekends.

The team looks to make it's 2025 season debut at 34 Raceway with the IRA next month. We would like to wish the entire team good luck , and a safe 2025 season!
