We’ve made it to the final stop in our March Madness adventure... the South! From the lively streets of New Orleans to the magic of Disney World, the South has something for everyone. Check out these gems:
1. Disney World - Orlando, Florida - While Disney World is not a hidden gem, it is a popular destination in the South. With the Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios, there is something for everyone. You cannot deny the magic of Disney.
2. Country Music Hall of Fame - Nashville, Tennessee - For those country music fans, the Country Music Hall of Fame is in the heart of downtown Nashville and celebrates American vernacular music. You can make it a day of country music and also visit the famous Grand Ole Opry.
3. Downtown Savannah - Savannah, Georgia - This is a city full of Southern charm, from its cobblestone streets to the Spanish moss covering the oak trees. It is the perfect city to escape to for people with any hobby or interest. History buffs will love exploring Old Fort Jackson or learning about the city’s past on an Old Savannah Trolly Tour.
4. French Quarter - New Orleans, Louisiana - The French Quarter is the city’s historic heart, famous for its vibrant nightlife and colorful buildings with cast-iron balconies. Bourbon Street features jazz clubs, Cajun eateries and bars serving potent cocktails. Quieter streets lead to the French Market, with gourmet food and local crafts, and to Jackson Square where street performers entertain in front of soaring St. Louis Cathedral.
