As I work to finish getting out the rest of our journey home to Maine from Florida, I decided to go ahead and release on an additional day today. Please consider checking out our video on our experience at Fancy Gap KOA in Virginia. Right off the Blue Ridge Parkway, this cabin is an excellent option as it provides a toilet inside the cabin. Rustic & nature vibes yet convenience of a potty is a win! Highly recommend this cabin and this KOA!

Saturday night was the opening night for Gardens Aglow at Maine Botanical Gardens. We were excited to try this out for our first time. Tickets are sold online and for specific timed entry, however once in, you can stay however long you desire (or tolerate the cold). We had a 4 PM entry time and stayed until approximately 7 PM. We were blessed with a rather mild night, however dressing warm is essential. They do have nice spots to duck in out of the cold though. This event does get crowded as it’s extremely popular. Be prepared to pack your patience, be mindful of others, and you’ll be sure to have an outstanding time. The displays are stunning, staff are helpful and friendly, plus there’s lots of tasty treats to explore as well. Highly recommend and we most definitely would consider returning again.

I’m now doing Daily Check In posts under my personal profile (Kristina Varnum), and that is set to public so anyone can follow that profile if they so choose. However I thought perhaps once a month, I’d swing by this page to give a bit of an overall update of sorts. More focused on our vlogging side than our personal life or home life.

The 16th of the month is a sobriety anniversary for me, God willing, so that might be a good time of month to aim for. Today marks 8 years, 2 months sober.

Over the past month, we have enjoyed a road trip to Florida and back that also included our first ever cruise experience as well as first time flying involving Mark’s mobility scooter. We also enjoyed some time on Walt Disney World property while there. We are still releasing content from that trip, although tomorrow’s episode will actually be of the experience last night at Gardens Aglow at Coastal Maine Botanical Garden and then on Wednesday we’ll return to an episode from the drive back to Maine from Florida. We arrived home in Maine around November 5. Since then, we’ve been busy with homeschooling, church, chores around the house, and other activities.

We did decide to delete the group platform. We also deleted TikTok and X. Then turned my personal profile to a professional account style and are just making it public for anyone to follow. This helps streamline a bit and repetition. Also allows for greater outreach. We will primarily focus on travel or adventures here, aka stuff we do away from the house. More personal notes or home based activities will be on my personal profile. Videos are set up on a schedule to come out on YouTube on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. Members Exclusive on Sundays. Unless we are overloaded with content and in that case, we’ll release on additional days. Shorts come out daily at 4 PM, if I have anything.

Upcoming road trip is scheduled for approximately the first week of December. It’ll include a ton of Christmas themed fun! Then in January we are considering traveling somewhere to get warm again. Possibly Florida or possibly out west. Time will tell.

Last night Teddy and I went to see a performance put on by the Bangor Area Homeschool Players at the Hermon Baptist Church here in Maine. Mark stayed behind to rest so that he can be ready for the adventure we have planned for tonight. I’m so glad we came out to see this performance! The kids did a wonderful job with this show. Tonight they have another performance if anyone local to our area is interested. Free to attend, but they are accepting donations. Snacks following the performance are Teddy approved! He enjoyed grapes and a cupcake.

Join us as we start our trek back to Maine from Florida. Our first stop is at a lovely Drury in Georgia. Right off Interstate 95 in northern Georgia near the South Carolina border, it’s an easy grab for a stay while traveling. Especially if you are traveling from the northeast to the theme park area of Florida, this sets up timing wonderfully. We are big fans of the Drury brand, many already might know this; however this particular location really grabbed our attention. Their staff were all extremely friendly and their food offerings were prepared better than any other Drury we’ve experienced. Although we didn’t have time to partake, they do offer an indoor pool and hot tub area. Highly recommend this location!

In this episode, join Mark for an outing at the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World. Teddy had wanted some down time at the resort, so I had taken him back for the evening. Mark did a fantastic job of capturing his fun over at the Magic Kingdom. This is our last episode for awhile related to Disney or to Florida, however stay tuned for more fun to come from our trip home to Maine from Florida. Also this weekend we start filming Christmas related fun events in our area, plus a trip planned to Hersheypark for Christmas fun coming in early December.

Today’s Episode:
Disney’s Animal Kingdom Fun Plus Campfire Marshmallows at Disney’s All Star Movies Resort

We spent a morning and into the afternoon as a family enjoying some fun at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, then we split up and Mark headed to Magic Kingdom (that video will come on Friday) and I headed back to the resort with Teddy so he could have some down time. After relaxing, Teddy did want to go out and enjoy the marshmallow offering at the resort nightly campfire. If you are enjoying some down time at your Disney resort, we highly recommend taking time to enjoy this offering. Smore kits are an additional cost, but just roasting marshmallows is free. While at Animal Kingdom; we took a couple of rides on Dinosaur, enjoyed the Nemo show, and also Festival of the Lion King.
