Dianne Van Hook has dedicated her career, much of it at College of the Canyons in #SantaClarita, to removing barriers, expanding access and creating opportunities for those who want to pursue a higher education. Van Hook has served as chief executive of The Santa Clarita Community College District for 33 years. In the late 1980s, the district was a suburban campus where 92 percent of the students were Caucasian. Today, the student body is 66 percent nonwhite.
