🗽 The Statue of Liberty: A Gift That Became an American Symbol

Did you know the Statue of Liberty was built in France before crossing the Atlantic to America?

In 1885, the statue arrived in New York Harbor in hundreds of carefully packed pieces. Workers then reassembled it on Bedloe’s Island, now known as Liberty Island.

On October 28, 1886, it was officially dedicated. Holding her torch above New York Harbor, the statue became a lasting symbol of liberty, hope, and the historic friendship between France and the United States.

A gift from France that became one of America’s most recognizable landmarks. 🇺🇸🇫🇷
