Jeanine Pirro built a whole prosecution on a lie, and now her own filing has blown up in her face on national television.

Pirro's office charged three-time Olympian David Hearn with vandalizing the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool, telling a grand jury there were witnesses who saw him reach into the water and tear the lining. The charge carried a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison. Trump piled on publicly, blaming "SICK, DERANGED PEOPLE" and even claiming vandals had cut a 300-foot gash with some kind of knife.

None of it was true.

Trump tried to pin an Iran-linked cyberattack on Tim Walz. Walz didn't flinch. He turned around and accused Trump of lying and covering up how many states were actually hit.

The attack targeted Minnesota's municipal water systems. Federal and state officials say it carries the trademarks of Iranian hackers, and the FBI has now confirmed at least seven states have reported similar attacks in the past week. But at his Cabinet meeting at Camp David on Friday, Trump waved all of that away and pointed the finger at Minnesota instead, calling the state "grossly incompetent" and branding Walz "the corrupt governor of Minnesota." Walz responded fast and hit hard.

For weeks, the Trump administration paraded around a story: someone vandalized the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool, and they were going to make an example of Olympic canoeist David "Davey" Hearn. They arrested him. They indicted him. They accused him of over $1,000 in damage.

On Friday, the whole thing came crashing down. In a court filing, prosecutors in Jeanine Pirro's office admitted they'd obtained information that destroyed the evidentiary basis for the indictment. Trump woke up furious, and this time the target of his rage is his own party.

In a lengthy Truth Social tirade Friday morning, Trump lashed out at Senator John Cornyn, one of two Republicans on the Senate Judiciary Committee refusing to advance Todd Blanche as the nation's permanent Attorney General.

The reason for the holdup should alarm every American. Republicans are stalling over Trump's plan to funnel $1.776 billion in taxpayer money to the January 6 defendants who stormed the Capitol.

Trump calls those rioters "great American Patriots" and insists they deserve compensation for being "hunted down like dogs." These are the people who attacked police officers and tried to overturn a free and fair election, and Trump wants to pay them nearly two billion dollars.

Rather than defend the fund on the merits, Trump did what he always does when cornered. He made it personal, accusing Cornyn of only opposing the payout after Trump endorsed his primary opponent Ken Paxton, who went on to win the nomination.
