Unlike most men, when I talk about “crazy women”, I’m talking about women who I respect who are highly intelligent, fearless, and fiercely passionate. Yet, when I ran into Rico Nasty at a New York Fashion Week event in 2019, I balked. I wanted to tell her how much I loved her music and ask if she would allow me to conduct an interview with her. But I chickened out. I won’t make the same mistake next time.
Of all of the great recording artists I learned of during the first two years of the pandemic, Redlands, California native Gurldoll is one whose music I grew to admire and appreciate more with each listen to their songs. With their genre-defying music, they are one of the most creative minds I’ve ever had the pleasure of listening to.

Yes she’s my baby and she’s also my stylist and my makeup artist and my best friend. And when we get an inspo in the middle of the night, or in the middle of nowhere, sometimes she is also my model. I’m very grateful to have a partner in creativity. I’m going to miss this one so much when she goes off to college. This will be the last time that I will ever post anything “old-fashioned”. The only reason that I am posting this is because I think Andrea Candelo, the woman in these photographs, is worthy of it.
When we first met, I was impressed with her manner of dress. Her wardrobe consists of mostly vintage clothing from the 1930s, 40s, 50s, and early 60s. These are some of the styles you see her wearing here.
Our relationship transcends any type of “friendship” that you could possibly imagine. She’s an amazing human being whom I shall love, respect, and protect forever.

The name "Neuerotica" popped into my head spontaneously when I was trying to think of a new name that would replace "Kingdomz X Magazine". However, it had a different spelling. Someone already had the site and domain name that wanted to use and I almost abandoned the name until I realized that I could just spell it differently and still have the same pronunciation. It wasn't until I bought the domain and had begin transitioning my site that I realized that "erotica" was part of my site name. 😑
It's too long to explain why I chose the name to begin with, but I will say that it had nothing to do with anything erotic. having said that, I *do* kind of like the fact that it's just a little bit "naughty". There are going to be people who will pronounce it the way it was meant to be pronounced, and others who will instead say "new erotica". I'm fine with both.

I’m saddened to report that one of the most promising young recording artists, Winona Brooks, bka LiL BO WEEP, has died at the age of twenty-four. I only started listening to her music last year and I have her entire catalog to date. This has been a heartbreaking turn of events. My sincerest condolences go out to her family and friends.

Kingdomz X Magazine is all about luxury, but not in the way you may have come to think of luxury. We don’t limit ourselves to merely displaying obscenely extravagant wares, as is the wont of other (more established) magazines. There is a well thought out philosophy behind what we publish, inspired by the words of Coco Chanel who was once quoted as saying,
“Some people think luxury is the opposite of poverty. It is not. It is the opposite of vulgarity.”
Luxury for me has always represented the artistic impulses of humanity to emulate or transcend all things brought into existence by the gods. We recreate and shape light, sound, color, sustenance, wood, and stone into glorious creations that would otherwise not exist without the seemingly boundless human imagination. Necessities are those things essential to our existence, luxury is what gives said existence meaning. Many of us are often told that luxury is the obverse of necessity. For all that, the arts surely falls into the former category; it provides neither sustenance, clothing, or shelter. However, without luxuries, we would be nothing more than grazing automatons, and life would be pointless. We are creators, and our creativity manifests in the foods we prepare, the furniture upon which we lounge, the spirits we consume, the timepieces with which we mark the hours.
It is my opinion that luxury is the art of living, and that it represents the imprint of the human soul upon the material world. Often, a highly individualistic and personal vision formed within and shaped by its unique vessel...the artist...the manifestation of art itself, is essentially a snapshot of our collective subconscious. It is this belief that impelled me to create Kingdomz X Magazine; to showcase an eclectic array of fine art, craft of artisans, performance phenomena, and pop culture diversions.
The scrupulously curated selections found at our magazine are those which I find exhibit particular resonance deserving of continued examination and discussion, since this is the means by which we preserve and transmit our cultural identity. The objective of Kingdomz X Magazine, is not to redefine luxury, but to explore its rich depths. We don’t want you to simply fantasize about luxury, we want you to transcend the boundaries with us.
