as soon as i identify a pattern or something to take advantage of with a specific whitetail… we “attack”.
weather, crops, time of year, etc. all play a role.

making aggressive methodical move’s get big deer in trouble. we often hunt them too subtle, in hopes of not educating them. as soon as you start hiking around hanging camera’s they know what’s going on. honestly it all comes down to THAT deer’s tolerance. some deer will pack up and move after they notice human intrusion. others will allow you to get away with more.
hunt smart, hunt aggressive.

as i grow older i learn to appreciate the journey; what it takes - more than anything else. whether that’s driving “x” amount of hours and or “x” amount of hours scouting.. that’s apart of the uniqueness that we remember most, that i live for. each and every spring morning is so different.. the places, the weather, etc. that’s what’s pure about it. the things we can’t control, but yet we get to endure during the chase simply because it’s apart of it. that’s what i love, what i cherish the most.
the sadness of another spring being done and gone is now heavy on my mind. while i also tell myself, wow.. look at where and what we’ve done. all smile’s as i look back. pure joy knowing they’ll be waiting for me next spring. 🍻
