True Story
The veil of complacency has lifted, revealing a moment of opportunity. I'm breaking free from the need for approval. A profound call to action resonates within me, urging me to stand, to speak, and to demand justice. The line between right and wrong is sharp, and I won't cross it. Someone needs to ignite the spark of change, and I'm here to fan the flames. Real change demands courage and action, and I'm ready to rise to the challenge. I am the change, and I'll unapologetically stand up for what's right... Even if, or ESPECIALLY when, the accused doesn't like it. Why? Because no one likes being called on their bu****it; yet this surpassed bu****it level by a hundred miles!
[Intro]
La, la, la, la
Mmm, mmm
[Verse 1]
Did you think I'd stay quiet, compliant, compliant?
Let you and corrupt sirens alone in the silence?
Use your title, your name, your environment.
So that in your home, towards me, you could be violent
Then pivot and say I'm deranged, I'm to blame
But the mask kept slipping; now it's cracking in frame
Lost control, every move left a trace
Too many slip-ups, obscene mistakes
You thought my man would stand for you
Buy the story like you thought he should
But he heard my pleas, saw straight through the smoke
Took a stance, chose truth, and the cycle got broke
What he saw that day was chaos.
It wasn't my consequence.
The unraveling narrative
Of where their story went wrong to begin with
All lies
If I was never the victim at all
Just a hysterical, unstable, unfit mom
Why the rage when the curtain got pulled?
By reckless hands when you lost control?
[Chorus]
Caught red-handed, no halo, no halo
He watched you manhandle me
Nothing gives you that right, though
Like anyone gave you the say-so
Wrong one, wrong day, wrong moment
You mistook his silence for weakness
You don't own him or me
Lost your self-control, I reclaim my own
I'm not the version you thought you'd mold
Try to quiet my breath, dim my sight
But I don't live in that dark anymore
I speak truth in the light
[Verse 2]
I'm not the one that's breaking, never again, never folding
You expected the old pattern to hold me
The same reaction, same ending
I'd act out, get framed, get detained
Take the bait, take the blame, get contained
Keep peace, keep quiet, comply
Cover it all up or hide
Let it die so the image survives
But you crossed that line, unhinged, unchecked
No cover story left to protect
Caught red-handed, witnessed clear
Truth don't stutter when it's spoken in here
Wrong one this time, wrong house, wrong one toβ
[Unhinged female hysterical laughing]
HA HA HA HA HA HA HA
Try to keep quiet!
[Chorus]
Caught red-handed, no halo, no halo
He watched you manhandle me
Nothing gives you that right, though
Like anyone gave you the say-so
Wrong one, wrong day, wrong moment
You mistook my silence for weakness
You don't own him or me
Lost your self-control, I reclaim my own
I'm not the version you thought you'd mold
Try to quiet my breath, dim my sight
But I don't live in that dark anymore
I speak truth in the light
[Outro]
Who was bought, bought, bought
Who was bought, bought, why
Whose voice got buried, buried, buried
ALIVE
Ten out of ten it's the victim, standing solo
Systematically picked, family court titles over fractured s**t
Silence enforced, denied help
Scripted strict, denied care
Denied the right to even be safe right there
My pressure cracks lies like diamonds
And eventually dark can't hide
When it's dragged to see truth's brilliant glow
Her light
Her shimmer, her shine
I choose to stand for my rights
I'm speaking the truth and I choose growth
I already shed your projections you all imposed
I won't fight how you want me to
That war's for God, but I speak the truth
I'll stand for my child, stand for her rights
Stand for voices strangled by family court ties
If you're standing alone tonight, I see you
You're not gone
Hold the line
Wrong is wrong, right is right
No title shields you from the darkness of night
[clean guitar fades out]
