Vietnam continues to strengthen its position as one of Asia’s most attractive destinations for foreign direct investment, particularly in high-tech manufacturing, semiconductors, AI, and digital infrastructure.
📌 Key Highlights:
📈 𝗙𝗗𝗜 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘄𝘁𝗵: Vietnam attracted USD 24.81 billion in registered FDI in the first 5 months of 2026, up 34.9% year-on-year.
🏭 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝘂𝗳𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝘁: The manufacturing & processing sector accounted for USD 15.01 billion, representing more than 60% of total registered FDI.
💡 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵-𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵 𝗙𝗗𝗜 𝗶𝘀 𝗴𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘂𝗺:
▪️Nearly USD 1 billion has been committed to hyperscale data centre projects in Ho Chi Minh City
▪️A USD 2.1 billion AI data centre project led by Hong Kong-based Accelerated Infrastructure Capital (AIC), in partnership with Kinh Bac City Development Holding Corporation (KBC) and international investors, has been announced to support growing AI and high-performance computing demand in Vietnam.
▪️Major investments are flowing into semiconductors, electronics, battery materials, AI, R&D, and digital infrastructure
