# Bio
Addicted to vinyl, micmac was back in the days an activist of Paris electro scene in the late 90’s as a co-founder of FDB recordings, electro bass label and resident of the paradise massage gigs @ Rex Club with Headliners from Detroit like Dj Assault, AUX 88, Detroit Grand Pubahs ...

Living in Saigon since 2007, quietly but constantly participating to techno vinyl dj set events (Observatory, Arcan, Lighthouse …) and experimental jam sessions with friends and artists visiting the city (Nurture Liminal Dream and Electro Jam events).

Born in 1996 in Tokunoshima, a small island in Kagoshima Japan, and rased in Osaka.

He is based in Osaka and plays in various places, selecting and mixing music of various genres from world music to slow techno, Downtempo,techno, acid and house, shaking the place with the sence of balance.

He has supported and co-starred with a variety of artists such as Nicola Cluz,Shackleton, Barrio Lindo, 250, Kurup, James Lavelle and Todd Terje ... etc
and played at Big party in Japan “FUTURE TERROR”, which was held at Countdown at the end of year.

He is a music storyteller and evangelist. This is a mix by Egg, a DJ and music selector who has a great influence on young local DJs in Kumamoto. The mix is quite a rewarding listen, especially in its world view and development.
Egg's mixes use a variety of genres, but they have a sense of unity, which is exactly what you would expect from The Egg music selection.

Ok. First thing first. It’s DJ-ÖRK, with the hyphen, with the umlaut, like Björk. Not DJ ORK, not ORK, DJ-ÖRK. One syllable.
It’s no secret that no matter what kind of music DJ-ÖRK/Dan Ni is playing, they shall do so with an intense fervour of madness. Someone once called them ‘Björk from Shopee’ and they’ve really leaned into that persona, striving to be Vietnam’s cringiest DJ. Stacked with top 40 gems and a boundless devotion for K-pop ephemeral past and present, DJ-ÖRK has bewildered many promoters and club owners alike. In fact, their music has garnered so much hate that online trolls have dedicated time and effort into making (and since then deleting) videos to unleash their venomous bile, another achievement in DJ-ÖRK’s chaotic ‘career’.
One thing you could always count on DJ-ÖRK to deliver—apart from sick outfits—is the presence of mayhem. Some say it’s musical alchemy, most say pure pandemonium. In their musical tapestries, DJ-ÖRK weaves ancestral tunes with thunderous club beats, slides in viral TikTok sound bites, or dives into the darkest corners of SoundCloud for unhinged edits. As a chaotic angel, Dan Ni wants to obliterate the illusory borders that divide—club vs. non-club, institutional vs. internet, mainstream vs. underground—all while being silly and donning the SHARPEST eyeliner in the room.

When did I first see them DJ? They stood out on the floor, and when they took to the DJ booth, their set felt like a perfect blend of the sophisticated tastes and complex environment of modern Saigon youth, wrapped in their unique style. We officially met at a party at The Observatory on a weekday, and after hearing their set that night, I immediately thought, "I should invite them to the next episode." Weeks later, I listened to the mix they sent me twice and muttered, "I'm glad I asked," before hitting play again.

Tourguide - Mogra Radio #056 ()

Tourguide aka Nhật-Vũ Đặng is a Dutch Vietnamese jewellery maker who enjoys digging for downtempo and ambient gems in his free time.

His interest in music was sparked through video games like Final Fantasy and Zelda, music from runway shows, cinema and breakdancing. For a decade he worked for the Comme des Garçons store in Berlin who gave him the creative freedom to select and shape its musical identity. Through out these years he became increasingly aware how sound affects a space.

He and his twin brother Đăng-Vũ Đặng (DJ Burun Đănga) enjoyed watching projections of Planet Earth documentaries and animations with their own compiled soundtrack and would occasionally organise private screenings with close friends. That’s when he realised he had to learn how to mix to create more immersive experiences. As a result a mix series emerged based on various landscapes. He shared them with a handful of friends who encouraged him to dig deeper and to start playing for public events.

His first gig was at Cocktail d’Amore’s morphine room in 2015 and more recently at Whole Festival, Wonderfruit Festival and is currently one of the resident DJ’s of Equation festival in Vietnam.

We met once on the streets of Tokyo. At that time, I didn’t knew that he’s Vietnamese. After listening to his Corona D’amore mix during the pandemic, I decided that I would love to have him do a mix for us. After the pandemic, he had more opportunities to play in Vietnam, and I was still convinced that my feeling was right. I am enjoying this mix, dreaming that one day we can play together in Vietnam.(Teruu)

Njuns - Mogra Radio #055 ( )

Njuns started focus on DJing in Vietnam few years ago, and soon after joined the label and booking agency Cliché Records in Hong Kong.
In 2017 he reconnected with Hanoi by joining the team behind Equation festival.
Playing often in the city, he quickly became a resident DJ at the club Savage.
His musical spectrum goes from groovy techno to electro with some subtle house and breakbeat touches.
Njuns has had the opportunity to play in venues like ://about blank in Berlin, Château Perché Festival in France, TAG in Chengdu, Mihn / Oma / Social Room in Hong Kong or Miller Night Bazaar Itaewon in Seoul to name a few.

I moved to Vietnam in 2017 and I think he was the first friend I hangout with at a friend's house. He always seems to enjoy DJing and is a friend who dances quite a bit on the floor. Born in 1998 in Higo Kouda, Yatsushiro City, Kumamoto Prefecture.
A true music lover who has genuinely loved music since his childhood.
When he was 16 years old, he bought his first vinyl record, and from that day on, he was hooked on music even more and started his DJ career.
Today, he is known as "vinyl Otaku," not to mention "digger.
His style is to drop various kinds of music from the East and West to the floor with his own sense.
He has released a mix CD of reggae-only music from Thailand in 2022.
He is the organizer and organizer of JUNGLE & NATIVE in his hometown.
He also organizes parties at Bottle in Kyushu and other cities.

This is a mix based on the concept of Japanese folklore by vinyl collector and unique selector Bach!
When he played Japanese Enka on the floor, I came up with the concept and asked him to create a mix.

Born in 1989 in Ho Chi Minh City - Vietnam, Bach was taught to play the
piano when he was eight years old. Later on he took academic piano
lessons at the Ho Chi Minh City Conservatory of Music, graduated the
Intermediate Long-term program in 2009 and achieved the Piano
Bachelor's degree in 2014. Bach has been playing the piano for more
than 10 years now and this impressive sound has had a big influence on
his music career ever since he started playing. He then discovered his
passion of composing music and started his own project ‘B.A.X.’ at the
age of 18. He has spent a lot of time to do research about electronic
music and composed his first New Age / Ambient works.
He stepped into the film score career in 2010 and started composing for several short films, later on
scoring for Vietnamese feature movies from 2014.
He started the DJ career since 2012 with Heart Beat Saigon and since 2016 with HRBR (Harbour
Saigon). Through many years of cultivation, the color of his Deep & Progressive House music has
gradually become an unforgettable symbol, a color that melody and harmony are the main euphonious
factor that was influenced a lot from his film score background. From here on, he began to produce
electronic music for his own dance floor.
In 2018, his very first EP ‘Microcrystals’ was released on MNL sub-label from Paul Hazendonk’s Manual
Music, the release was miraculously praised by Paul himself as well as other renown artists. Following in
early 2019 was a highlight when he dropped down ‘Moongazer’ EP on Manual Deep and ‘Nature’s Hymn’
EP on 3rd Avenue, single tune ‘Pongour Falls’ featuring in SC2019 compilation on HOSH’s imprint
FRYHIDE. With a vast understanding of music, until now he has produced and brought many grand
releases on more labels such as Sound Avenue, Muak Music and Soundteller Records.

To continuing the musical journey, he decided to establish his own label Holy Grail Music in his hometown
in 2019 which has been a dream he have cherished for years, an opportunity to gradually expand the
music production and connection with local artists as well as artists around the world.

B.A.X. is one of the most prolific film score composers in Vietnam in recent years. Alongside his commendable work in film, he has also been a DJ for many years, a central figure in the enduring techno party scene in Saigon, contributing significantly to events such as Heart Beat Saigon, HRBR, and more.

Jauge is the musical output for George Stockton. He has been producing and playing a variety of his sounds and others, since 2010.

His first release was 'Be Free' on Bad Panda Records in 2012 and a second named 'Gather' in 2015. That year he also released 'Soon' on MTA records. He has remixed the likes of Bodhi, Antenna Happy and Snowpoet.

He continues to work with Cardiff/London based 'Sleep Walk Listen' and was a part of the artist Snowskull's - 'All Great Thoughts Are Conceived By Walking' EP which involved several collaborations with artists across the UK.

Since leaving the UK he has been residing in Hanoi VN where he has released music on the recent label, Magic Box Engine.

Banes - Mogra Radio #051

With music, drums were my first love.

The energy you feel behind a kit is unreal. It’s why I started playing in hardcore punk, metal and thrash bands at 15, where I really started to understand how rhythm changes a song’s dynamic.

But when I started studying Music Tech at college, the only hardcore I played was 90s rave classics. This was a life-changing period for me. I was exploring techno, dub, garage, and basically anything electronic, then spinning the finds at my mate’s house parties.

Then by 2019, I was DJing around Bristol and ended up getting a residency at a local club called, The Old Crown Courts. That’s basically where I learnt my foundations.

Since leaving the UK for Saigon, I’ve met some incredible people and connected with the city’s super supportive scene. In a pretty short time, I’ve already played several events, festivals and clubs like The Obs, Lighthouse, and the Villa Project.

For my Mogra mix, I created a hybrid set recorded in my mate’s living room. I think the need for a live element in my sets recently comes from playing the drums, so I’ve started using a sampler to add voice samples and warped elements to create deeper, more textured and evolving soundscapes.
