Siege Shifts From Iran to Its Remaining Partners

Netanyahu is treating Trump’s latest sanctions package as the third path discussed in Washington: not a new deal, not a fresh strike wave, but a tighter siege on the networks that still move Iranian trade.

The pressure is no longer aimed only at Tehran. It is aimed at the banks, shippers and third countries that keep residual oil and settlement channels open. That is where the cost of remaining in the system now rises.

Whether this works depends on enforcement against those partners, especially China. Rhetoric about isolation is easy. Cutting the last usable corridors is the part that decides if the siege actually tightens.
