🌍 Another week at Tay Tai – The Worldschool Hub of Hoi An 🌱
Every week here looks a little different, but the heartbeat is always the same: real community, hands-on learning, and kids (and parents!) thriving together.

This week you’ll find:

✨ Farm mornings with The Seedlings — planting, feeding animals, aquaponics, tinkering, and creative projects.
✨ Outdoor adventures — from sea scouts on the beach to SUPing the Thu Bon River.
✨ Creative + practical workshops — sewing, cooking, mechanics, music, stop-motion, chess, acrobatics, and more.
✨ Gentle community meetups — our Read & Relax Club with a growing library (perfect for travelling families!) and our weekly community dinner.

Tay Tai is more than a farm.

It’s a home base for worldschooling, homeschooling, and travelling families to connect, learn, and grow. A place where kids get muddy, curious, and creative — and where parents find connection, support, and a hub they can call home while in Hoi An.

🌍 Tay Tai – The Worldschool Hub of Hoi An 🌱

Back in 2020, during the Covid lockdowns, the very first Worldschooling Hub in Hoi An was created by a single mum looking for alternative education for her teenage daughters.

We joined from the beginning as The Running Goat, offering permaculture, sustainability, and language exchange.

Arthur was still a baby then -too young to take part, but that time planted a seed for us.

We knew, when he was older, we wanted something different for his learning, and that vision has only grown stronger since.

When that first hub closed, the vision didn’t fade.

Out of those seeds came what is now Tay Tai - co-created by 2 families, ours (Hannah, Pierre & Arthur) and our long-time friends and partners (Chuong, Ha & Khe).

Between us we bring teaching, permaculture, engineering, aquaponics, construction, cooking, and craft - real expertise alongside our shared belief in freedom, connection, and family-led education.

Tay Tai was built from the ground up on a piece of empty land, using mostly recycled and reclaimed materials.

What stands here today is more than a farm - it’s a home base for families from all over the world to connect, learn, and grow.

And we’re not stopping here!

The homeschool and co-working centre, library, and more family spaces are already on the way!

But the hub doesn’t stop at the farm gate.

Our community comes alive through weekly workshops, play-based learning, and skills-sharing in everything from mechanics, cooking, sewing, and gardening to drama, STEAM, Lego robotics, stop-motion, Vietnamese language, and more.

We’re also planning regular field trips, cultural exchanges, and community events so families can experience Hoi An and beyond together.

Tay Tai is not just about activities.

It’s about building a supportive, parent-led hub where families feel at home, kids can thrive without limits, and parents can lean into both freedom and connection.

We know we can’t (and shouldn’t) provide everything ourselves - that’s why we actively bring in experts from the Hoi An community and beyond.

From Vietnamese teachers to international instructors, so our families can learn from a wide circle of knowledge and skills.

Next week at Tay Tai - The Worldschooling HUB of Hoi An!

A fresh new week is just around the corner - and we’ve packed it full of hands-on adventures, creative workshops, and plenty of community connection here at Tay Tai.

From forest therapy and sea scouts, to raft building, little chefs, and young builders — there’s something for every curious kid (and parent!) to dive into.

And of course, our classics return too: Read & Relax Club, Minecraft + Roblox + Games meetup, street dance under the trees, and time to gather over good food at our Friday Community Dinner.

Each session is a chance to build skills, confidence, and friendships - while making the most of farm life, rivers, and wild imaginations.

Ending the week with some amazing skill-building workshops!

🏕 Teepee Building – All Hands On Deck!

Tomorrow morning we’re going BIG – literally!

Together, kids, teens, and adults will design and build a full-sized teepee right here on the farm.

This hands-on project will have everyone:

🔹 Learning basic construction skills
🔹 Working as a team to problem-solve and plan
🔹 Practising measurement, knot-tying, and tool use
🔹 Discovering traditional shelter-building techniques used around the world

By the end, we’ll have a new, cosy space on the farm that we built together.

In the afternoon, the music magic continues! Sam will guide the kids in refining their rhythm, timing, and collaboration skills as they experiment with different instruments, sounds, and songs. I

It’s about building confidence, creativity, and the joy of making music as a group.

Tay Tai Friday Adventures – On & Off the Farm!

Start your day with Improvised Shelter Building & Survival Skills with Captain Jessica at the farm (8:30-11:30am) – learning how to stay safe, creative, and resourceful in the great outdoors.

From 1pm, our Minecraft, Roblox & Games Meet Up kicks off!

Kids can jump into each other’s worlds, swap game cards, or unplug with puzzles, board games, and more.

Parents can stay, relax with sushi, juices, and coffee, and connect with other families… or drop the kids off for a couple of hours of fun.

Bonus! Before our Community Dinner (location TBC), we’ll likely make a quick trip to the beach for a swim.

Perfect for shaking off a few hours of screen time.

🚤 Mega SUP Adventure – An Bang beach (9:00–12:00)

This week, it’s not just paddleboarding… it’s an all aboard giant paddleboard adventure!

Join Captain Jessica for games, teamwork, and a splash of friendly competition as you sail on the sea together.

Learn essential paddle safety and rescue drills, and see what happens when everyone has to work in sync to stay afloat! 🌊

🏴‍☠️ Treasure Hunters (9:30–12:30)

This week our young explorers will craft their own “treasures” to hide and hunt for, then set off on a pirate-style quest around the farm. This week, they’ll level up their navigation skills with new challenges and hidden clues to unlock the loot!

🎬 Paper Town – Stop Motion Studio (14:00–16:00)
Last week saw the kids create their first stop motion movie "The Never Ending Annihilation" (catchy we know!) Some were so inspired they went home and created their own movies! And this week, kids will continue creating their own stop-motion masterpieces using paper, cardboard, clay, and figures.

Bring your imagination - leave with your own mini-movie magic.

Tomorrow at Tay Tai – Learn, Build, Play!

We’ve got 2 hands-on workshops to keep curious minds and busy hands happy all day long!

Morning: First Aid & Survival Skills (9–12)

With Jessica as your guide, kids will get stuck into essential first aid know-how and practical survival skills. We’ll cover the basics of staying safe, caring for injuries, and making smart choices outdoors - all while having fun with challenges and team games. Perfect for kids who love to explore, climb, camp, or just feel prepared for anything.

Afternoon: Mini House Building (2–5pm)
From blueprint to build - kids will work to design and construct their very own miniature houses using wood, bamboo, recycled materials and imagination. This one’s all about creativity, problem-solving, and hands-on making.

TUESDAY WITH THE TAY TAI COMMUNITY!

Another exciting day of activities planned!

🌊 Sea Scouts (Ages 6+, 9:00–12:00, Cua Dai Beach)
Join Jessica for a morning on the sand and in the shallows - learning all about water and shore safety, building teamwork through games, and exploring the coastline like true scouts of the sea.

🌱 The Seedlings (All ages, 9:30–12:00, Tay Tai Farm)
A slow, nature-filled morning with Pierre & Chuong - tending to the gardens, planting seedlings, feeding animals, getting messy in the mud, and learning about farm life through hands-on fun. The kids can also take some time out in the tree house or on the Ninja Run - plenty to do for all ages! (even WIFI and seating areas in the shade for working parents and older kids).

🍓 Little Chefs (Ages 5+, 15:00–17:00, Tay Tai Farm)
Back in the Tay Tai kitchen with Hannah & Pierre! This week’s menu is all about tasty, healthy bites and building kitchen confidence. With Watermelon and Fruit Pizza, healthy sandwiches and yoghurt cake. Kids will be cutting, measuring, following recipes, mixing, teamwork… and, of course, sharing the food together at the end!

Our schedule this week at Tay Tai!

From paddle boarding down the Thu Bon to treasure hunting on the farm… from stop-motion magic to street dancing under the sky… from little chefs whipping up tasty treats to kids building bands, teepees, and more – it’s another week of hands-on learning, wild play, and real connection.

Whether your kids love mud between their toes, music in their ears, or making new friends over Minecraft and sushi, we’ve got a spot waiting for them!

Designed for homeschoolers, worldschoolers, unschoolers and any other "schoolers" - Tay Tai ( means Talented Hands) is a growing community of families connecting over alternative living and falling in love with Hoi An. We provide kids, teens & adults with activities, experiences and meet ups that help us to learn, grow and connect TOGETHER.
