The Senegalese government has issued an ultimatum to Akon, threatening to reclaim 90% of the land designated for "Akon City" if construction doesn't begin soon.

Despite the project's grand announcement in 2020, little progress has been made, leaving only one concrete block standing on the site.

Lawmakers have criticized the stalled development, but Akon remains committed to moving forward with the plans.
