Managed to scrub up the studio enough for a few days shooting. Woodworking tools and paint tins hidden away and replaced with hand sanitiser and spare masks. Lovely campaign I’ll share soon, once it’s released.

Dropping off a hard drive full of work for and any other method would be such a waste on a day like today (although there’s quite a headwind all the way there so the return journey will be ace).

Anyone remember this obelisk on Market Street?
Sometime in the mid 90’s hangout for punks and quietly removed (basically because it’s ugly as hell and got nothing but complaints).
Shot for exhibition back in the days of NP400 film and my trusty Mamiya RZ67 Heavily influenced by the work of joiners but created by cutting up original negatives and taping them together to create a large format negative. This is a quick snap of the original print (hence the reflections) which is about 4’ tall and currently stored in my shed.

This thin joist is one of the last remains of an old roof. I had to pretend it was needed for lighting to stop the builder removing it. It’s now known as JK’s folly. The box on the right is all that’s left of an old valley gutter, the purpose for it now has yet to be determined but likely to be a shelf covered in what is known around here as ‘tripe’ (not literally stomach, just collected things). We have a shed full of stuff that “would look nice in Edge Street”
This place is not going to be minimalist.

Delighted with the way the ceiling has shaped up at the studio. Completion is on hold with the shutdown but exited for when it’s time to finish it all off and move back in.

Lovely to come across some older work whilst scrolling through Instagram.
This from
has always been a favourite so a delight to see it pop into my feed. Part of a series of photographs for Manchester Jewellers Network. Always a fantastically creative set of clients to work with.

I found out today that Galerie RA in Amsterdam is closing after 43 years. I have always been inspired by Dutch contemporary jewellery and their innovative ideas about jewellery as art. I had the pleasure of visiting Galerie RA a few years ago such an absolute pleasure.
