Climbing Life’s Mountains ⛰️✨
This past week, I set out on a journey of faith to climb Mt. Longonot. My health was not at its best, yet I encouraged myself, “I can make it.” What I thought would be just a hike turned into one of the greatest lessons of my life. Sometimes the steps we take in faith look small on the outside, but they carry life-changing impact on the inside.
At the beginning, we were advised to prepare: carry water, hire a walking stick, and wear the right gear. Some ignored the counsel, and along the way, they struggled. It reminded me of Ephesians 6:11: “Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.” In life too, preparation—both spiritual and physical—is essential for the battles ahead. Without preparation, we risk fainting on the journey. With preparation, even when the climb is hard, we still find strength to keep pressing on.
As we climbed, the group began to separate. Some rushed ahead, others gave up. I realized I could not depend on the group — I had to walk my own path, at my own pace. Matthew 7:14 says, “But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.” Life’s journey is often personal, and sometimes God requires you to walk alone with Him. In those moments, it is not the crowd that defines your victory, but your consistency and focus on the path God has set before you.
Midway, I lost my phone. I could have been distracted or discouraged, but I chose to keep climbing. Later, God performed a miracle — my phone was found and returned. Thanks to the dedicated KWS game rangers, it was kept safe at their office down the mountain. Their integrity and service reminded me of God’s own care for His children. Philippians 3:14 came alive for me: “I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me.” The lesson is clear: do not allow temporary setbacks to derail you from your eternal assignment. What you lose in the middle of the journey, God is able to restore at the end.
Even as I climbed, I discovered the power of generosity. I carried water I didn’t drink, yet I shared it with others who were in need. Proverbs 11:25 says, “A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed.” Sometimes, your preparation becomes someone else’s survival. When you lift another person in their moment of weakness, God Himself will refresh you in yours.
Finally, after hours of pain and persistence, I reached the crater. The ache in my body was real, but the joy of victory was far greater. 2 Corinthians 4:17 reminds us: “For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all.” In every struggle, there is hidden glory; in every tear, a hidden testimony.
This mountain taught me one powerful truth: No mountain in life is too high when God is your foundation. You may face pain, opposition, and distractions, but if you stay prepared, walk your path with focus, and trust in God, you will surely reach the top.
And today I declare: I will keep climbing every mountain with God on my side, because the summit always carries a testimony of His faithfulness. 🙏⛰️✨
To you reading this: whatever mountain you are facing — whether it is sickness, financial struggles, family challenges, or hidden battles — don’t give up. The climb may be hard, the road may be lonely, and you may even lose something along the way. But keep pressing on. What seems lost, God can restore. What feels heavy, He will give you strength to carry. And when you finally reach your summit, you will discover that the view is worth every step. 🌄💪
