Work now, play later.

As a kid, my dad always emphasized the importance of delayed gratification. “Anak, work now, play later. Suffer now, or suffer later.” And I took that to heart. I used to finish my homework while waiting for my sundo at school because there was no way I was doing “school” while I was at “home.” Spending hours in school only to do more schoolwork at home just didn’t feel fair.

Later on in my school life, I started paying less attention in class. My grades didn’t reflect the effort of someone who followed the “suffer now” philosophy, but I was working.

At 16, I started working on my own craft by building websites. By 17, I had started a mini-art agency. At 19, I dove into NFTs, and by 20, I was creating content. At 21, I landed a full-time job while still finishing my degree.

Suffering looks different for everyone. For me, it was focusing on my own projects, but realistically, I had the privilege to do so because of the opportunities I was given.

Some people never get the chance to "play" in this world. I can’t help but reflect on the life of Jesus—who graciously suffered for us, so that we could play and worship in eternity.

Today, I’m on my first international solo trip, on my way to watch the fastest cars and the greatest drivers in the world.

Leave no scraps.

A few weeks have passed since I've finished all my college courses. I spent a few (2) weeks enjoying my newfound liberation and sudden supply of free time through gaming and being a sloth. That was satisfied very quickly.

Last week, I took the time to evaluate what I’ve been doing career-wise, specifically on my content. It re-ignited a strong desire to do more and to build bigger things. I spent days watching and listening how to better my craft, then uninstalled YouTube to stop myself from over-analyzing and just go do.

Here’s a simplified plan for the following months:

1. Create a free online course to promote my mailing list.

2. Start uploading long-form content again.

3. Convert my content scripts to short, digestible content for my mailing list

4. Utilize what audience I already have to cross-promote all of these platforms.

5. Scale

Develop an efficient content pipeline, then monetize. Every action must leave no scraps.
