After months of relentless pressure (and more follow-ups than a telemarketer on commission), the VF Plus in Kempton Park has finally succeeded in getting the traffic lights at the corner of Olienhout Avenue and Elgin Road back on! What the city couldn’t fix for ages, a bit of political persistence — and maybe a few sternly worded emails — did the trick. 💡 UPDATE: The current outage affecting the entire 66kV network in Kempton Park stems from maintenance work on the Eskom transmission side. During the process, the feeder intended to carry the temporary load could not handle the actual demand, leading to a system trip. Eskom is now in the process of restoring both lines to stabilise supply and bring power back online as soon as possible. Energy should be back in a few minutes.

‼️ SUSPECT DENIES CHARGES IN KEMPTON PARK HUMAN TRAFFICKING CASE!
Investigating officer, Sergeant Suzan Maloka of the Hawks, alleged that while police were detaining the suspects at Norkem Park SAPS, Dinago arrived and allegedly offered officers R200 000 for the release of the detained men. She further claimed Dinago attempted to force his way into the holding cells, blocking the cell gate. The detained men reportedly moved away from him and gestured to officers that they were afraid of him. The rescue operation followed after VF Plus councillor for Kempton Park, Jean Kriek, received reports of people calling for help from inside the property.

🚨 BIRCHLEIGH NORTH TRAFFICKING SUSPECT TO SEEK BAIL ON JULY 18!
The rescue followed after Freedom Front Plus (VF Plus) councillor for Kempton Park, Jean Kriek, received reports of people calling for help from inside the property. Kriek went to the house to investigate and immediately contacted the police, the EMPD and a private security company for assistance.
