Just came back from the Philippines 🇵🇭 with this adorable bracelet that my niece made for me. I was blown away by how well she assembled it. 😍

She's only 9 years old, but she is already a little entrepreneur selling these bracelets at 5 pesos at her school. Talk about girl boss! 😎🔥🔥🔥

Living out the foodie life dream.🥹✨️ We got to try out two restaurants that were owned by Celebrity Chefs, Giada de Laurentiis and Gordon Ramsey. They did not disappoint. Their food were absolute 🔥🔥🔥

Every morning, I stopped by the Bellagio Patisserie because their pastries were divine. Fun fact: It holds the largest chocolate fountain according to the Guinness World Records! 🤤❤️

And for the first time ever...I tried caviar. 😳

Cheers to 2023! It is a New Year with new beginnings.

After a night full of drinks 🍸 and fireworks 🎆, I'm spending the first day of the year chilling in my couch while sipping on my oolong milk tea.

When I was little, my father used to teach us self-restraint by placing the candy on the highest shelf of the pantry. I couldn't resist the temptation, obviously, so when my dad was not presently in the kitchen, I climbed the shelves and took a piece. I assumed that if I took a little piece once in a while, he wouldn't notice. But he did.

Laffy Taffy was a fun subject to play with because I could give it a story about our childhood misfits.

Playing with composition has always been fun for me to play with. Sometimes, I like to focus on both the middle ground and the background to tell a story. Other times, I would blur the background and foreground to make the food more in focus in the middle ground.

Play with your composition and see how it can lead the audience's eyes to focus on certain areas of the image.

Foreground - Closest to the camera.
Middle Ground - Normally where the main subject is in focus.
Background - Furthest from the camera.

The chilly December is perfect for some hearty Adobo Chicken. 🐔

It is one of our classic Filipino meals that is easy to cook and inexpensive to prepare. Typically, its main ingredient consists of chicken and soy sauce.

Been MIA! But that's alright! I'm back to finish the year with some yummy goodness. But first let's break some myths.

Myth #3: You need to buy several props to be good.

The answer is an obvious one. No need for fancy props. Be resourceful & creative with what you have around you. I clearly use my household items and home decor for my shoots. At one point, I didn't use any props at all and just let the subject speak for itself.

☀️ Lighting - Choose between artificial lighting and natural lighting. Make sure your image gets the best exposure.
📸 Camera Angles - You can angle your camera straight on, 45 degrees, or overhead of your subject.
🥘 Food Styling - Play with colors, compositions, and prop placements to enhance the main subject.

I notice that the streets are painted with blooming flowers and tinges of light green leaves in-between. So this April, I'm starting off with a pun. Because what paints our world of food, are not flowers, but FLOUR!

Flour is an ingredient that may not be grandiose, but it is an important part of almost every meal. It creates sweet pastries, hearty loaves of bread, crunchy fried foods, roux for your soups, and so much more!

To me, at least, it is the MVP. 😎
