The Grade 1 listed Old Bridge in Pontypridd, Wales was an architectural marvel.

Built in 1756 by William Edwards, a self-taught stonemason, it was the longest single-span bridge in Britain for more than 40 years. What makes this bridge truly remarkable is its 140 foot span, which remains impressive even by modern standards.

An old drawing of St. Leonard's Priory in Stamford from 1836 - the only remains of a Benedictine priory founded here in 1082.

The impressive West Front was built around 1150. The only reason it escaped demolition during the Dissolution of the Monasteries was because it was repurposed as a barn. The rare survivor is now a Scheduled Ancient Monument and Grade 1 listed.

Loseley Park is a magnificent Tudor manor house in Guildford, Surrey.

Built in the 16th century, the house was commissioned by Sir William More during the reign of Queen Elizabeth I - it was built from stone salvaged from the ruins of Waverley Abbey.

Leeds Castle, a medieval fortress set on two islands in a magnificent lake, is called 'the loveliest castle in the world.'
