I post blogs at newbayoubooks.com on Mondays. If you're a writer, you may find some comfort or even insights in them. I mean, it's possible . . . just saying.
It's a great time to be an artist, because the internet has level the playing field for distribution. Unfortunately, corporate media is attempting to usher in a Brave New World of social control. I say, f**k that. Support independents artists. New Bayou Books published two Indy, Louisiana-centered novels this year. Type "new bayou books" or "Jason P. Reed" into Amazon and buy one. (Or not--you're still free, for now).
All Saints' Day of the Dead is out now! Got proofs of the paperback last week. It's beautiful. The Kindle version is on sale now for $ 6.66 on Amazon.
Just sent my next book, All Saints Day of the Dead, to the copy editor! Published a new blog about my writing process on NewBayouBooks.com.
The New Bayou Blog this week is the second episode of my little Kindle Vella serial, titled Revenge of the Unwoke; How Curtis Laroux Came to Lead the Vice Sign Movement. Meanwhile, I will donate any sales this month of Tattoos and Tans, my first book, to the Red Cross Hurricane Ida Relief Fund. I would be delighted if the sales figure matches the donation New Bayou Books has already made to the Red Cross.
My thoughts are with friends and family in various parts of Louisiana. Hang in there!
If you still have internet and you have seven minutes for a laugh, check out my first episode of "Revenge of the Unwoke" at NewBayouBooks.com. The first six episodes will be up on Amazon next week.
Shout out to Jamie Kornegay for his killer modern fiction novel called Soil. Set in Mississippi. It's weird. It's rich. It's uniquely southern. Plus, the author owns an independent book store. Check him out!
