Kevin Nkateko "Dog" Shingange of Nkowankowa has been stabbed to death

NKOWANKOWA: A nyaope sniffing man has stabbed and killed Kevin Nkateko Shingange (35) who was commonly known as Dog in Nkowankowa last night.
A man who seemed to be very high with drugs suspected to be nyaope and others allegedly caused havoc at the Van Royen tavern in Nkowankowa last night.
Patrons told Rio-Jab Media that the attacker whose name is known to Rio-Jab Media destroyed everything including the teller machine.
He tried to stab a certain man who hails from Zimbabwe and Shingange tried to stop him as he knew him very well.
It was this time that the man stabbed Shingange in the chest and on the neck with a sharp instrument.
The man allegedly broke beer bottles and threw them at everyone like a mentally disorganised
human being.
Police were called to the scene but the suspect continued being so unruly and threatened to stab the police as well.
The police shot the suspect on his right leg to subdue him and he was then arrested.
Meanwhile, Shingange was rushed to the nearby Nkowankowa Health Centre by the tavern owner.
It is alleged that the Health Centre did not have Oxygen tanks resulting in Shingange being rushed to Letaba hospital.
Rio-Jab Media understands that about five doctors attended to Shingange but he unfortunately passed on.
Shingange's sister, Elizabeth Zabie Shingange, a well known human rights activist said the family was extremely devastated.
She accused the police of taking their time to attend to the attack and said this made the community very angry at the police.
She warned the Ritavi police saying if they don't treat this matter carefully they were going to regret.
"We know the stories that happen at Ritavi police station. If they ever treat this case like they have always done with others by being negligent, they will be in big trouble," warned Zabie.
"All we want is justice for my brother," Zabie added.

142 YEARS IMPRISONMENT HANDED DOWN TO 39-YEAR-OLD MAN WHO RANDOMLY SHOT 14 PEOPLE AND KILLED 03, AT A TAVERN IN THABAZIMBI IN 2019

The Police Detective at a rank of a Sergeant, attached at Thabazimbi investigating unit, successfully secured 03 life sentences and one hundred and forty-two (142) years, handed down by Polokwane High Court after a male accused, Maholobela Tanki, aged 39, was found guilty and convicted for killing three people and attempted to kill eight other people during a robbery committed at a tavern in Northam, during 2019.

Whereas his accomplices, a female accused (37), was turned into a state witness, and another male accused (44) was not found guilty at all the charges.

During the trial, Court heard that on 12 October 2019, at around 23:20, the accused and his two accomplices went to a tavern in Thabazimbi and demanded money from the teller. In the process, some of the bystanders tried to intervene. The accused produced a firearm and fired shots randomly at them. Three were shot dead, and eight wounded. Suspects made off with an undisclosed amount of money and ci******es. Cases of murder and attempted murder were opened. They were assigned to Sergeant Monako Dikobe for further investigation.

Team of Police investigators were activated. Following meticulous investigation, three suspects were arrested. Police seized one unlicensed firearm and ammunition from the accused. One of the accused was found not guilty, and the other turned into a state witness.

Polokwane High Court, sentenced Maholobela Tanki (39) as follows:
* Three (03) life imprisonment for 03 counts of murder.
* One hundred and twenty (120) years imprisonment for 08 counts of attempted murder.
* Fifteen (15) years imprisonment for 01 count of armed robbery.
* Five (5) years imprisonment for possession of unlicensed firearm.
* Two (2) years imprisonment for possession of unlicensed ammunition.

15 YEARS OLD GIRL WAS R***D ON TUESDAY, 5 DECEMBER IN TZANEEN (DAN VILLAGE)

The South African Police Service in Ritavi have opened a r**e case following an alleged gang ra**ng incident of a 15 year-old girl on Tuesday, 05 December 2023 at about 15:00 in Dan village under Mopani District.

According to police report at this stage, the victim who is a resident at Muhlaba Cross village visited her Aunt at Dan village. While sitting outside the house with her cousin, they were approached by three unknown males who forcefully took a 15 year-old inside the house and undressed her.

Unfortunately, the victim was r**ed by the trio who left her inside the house and fled the scene on foot to evade an arrest.

After the ordeal, the victim informed her Aunt and the incident was immediately reported to the police who opened three counts of r**e.

A manhunt of the unknown suspects have been launched to apprehend the suspects.

The police appeals to anyone with information that can assist with investigations should contact the Investigating Officer, Captain Maswanganyi on 0824517156 or crime stop number 0860010111 or nearest police station or MySAPSApp.

GA-RAMODUMO- The Police in Mokwakwaila outside Tzaneen have opened case of r**e which occurred in the drinking places that took place at on Saturday 25 November 2023 at Ga-Ramodumo in Mokwakwaila policing area.

According to the police reports, it is alleged that the 16 year-old teenager victim went to a certain drinking place at Ga-Ramodumo village as they were invited to go and perform as she is a singer who works with her friend who is an artist, while still there came her ex boyfriend at around 03h00 who grabbed her by hand and pulled her from the light to the dark. The ex boyfriend who is a suspect asked the victim to go with him to his homestead and she allegedly refused and he dragged her to his homestead where he r**ed her.

The Police request Tebatso Mamarara from Ga-Ramodumo village to avail himself at Mokwakwaila Police Station to assist the police with the investigation or he can call Branch Commander Warrant Officer Nthai Modjadji on 060 996 0062 or come to Mokwakwaila SAPS.
