When was the last time you took yourself on a "date"? 💃
If you're a mom then you can probably guess that by "date" I just mean going anywhere alone. 🤪
And yes, the grocery store does count.👍
I want to encourage you to make that next trip just a bit more special. Do a little extra. Grab a coffee or call a friend or woof some dang fries in the parking lot. Whatever might make that time feel a bit more indulgent and a lot more joyful.
As moms we know that time alone can be ridiculously scarce. However, rather than stew about that or any other perceived injustices against us let's take back that time. And more importantly, take back our minds during that time.
It can be so easy to finally get out of the house alone only to waste it thinking about all the ways its unfair, and we feel bad, angry, cheated or unfulfilled.
But using these precious moments we need in order to recharge to instead, stew on the past or future, is totally counter productive. And on the whole its not going to help us make any changes.
We need space and sanity to create change in our lives. Because change is really freakin HARD!
So if you're spending a free hour stewing, and depriving yourself of a little joy, it's likely you will not recharge and you will not do anything differently to improve your situation.
Stop the cycle. You are the only person responsible for making YOU happy. So it is so freakin important to do that ecspecially when you're alone.
Another great way to make the most of an hour alone is to work with me. 😊
We laugh, we cry, we celebrate and we connect. That is recharging. And it will create massive change not just in your life but in the lives of everyone around you.
