4 months old 🥲

This was the month that Henry just seemed to change every single day! he is babbling nonstop, drooling like a maniac, belly laughing, and starting to grab at everything in sight and putting it right into the mouth 😂

Him and his big sis have such a tight bond and she is the one who can get him to laugh the hardest 🥹

This is also our official last month of 2 under 2! Time really does fly.

Birth story

The thought of induction started feeling like a closer reality when I hit 6 days past due, I was starting to feel extremely uncomfortable and having very regular nerve pains throughout my legs every time he would reposition his head. At my 41 week appointment we discussed checking on him 1 more time throughout the holiday weekend to make sure we both still looked healthy, but to ultimately plan to break my water and see if my body kicked into gear on Tuesday morning if I was still pregnant.

At my check the day before induction I had our final checkup and I was starting to experience blurred vision and a pretty uncomfortable headache, but all my tests and his looked great so we decided it was ok to send me home to get some rest before induction early the next morning.

We had one last night as a family of three, I rocked Sophia to sleep, and both Rob and I got a good night sleep. We left for the hospital at 6AM, got settled, and my OB came to break my water at 930AM. About an hour after it broke I was on the exercise ball and started having regular contractions about 5 minutes apart. The doctor came in around 1130 and my contractions had JUST started progressing to a more intense level and I opted to get checked and had progressed about 1CM. We agreed to continue to wait on any pitocin because my contractions were progressing nicely.

By this point I was having Rob do counter pressure during each contraction and was naturally moving to different positions. A nurse who had also taken trainings in birth positioning came in and asked if we’d like her to show me a couple positions to labor in that helps get the baby further down into the birth canal. I did a few of those positions for about an hour and after my OB came and I asked to be checked because baby felt very low. Again I had progressed about another CM and was around 7CM at this point.

Officially into my 3rd trimester!

This pregnancy really cannot compare to my first. It’s been much more physically challenging, but also came with a lot more confidence in knowing my abilities and place as a mother.

We are excited to meet this baby boy and get his space in our home ready over the next couple of months 💙

27 week 🥹

I get asked a lot how I’m feeling going from 1-2, and although I have my nerves, I always have such a sense of calm knowing it’s all going to fall into place beautifully with time. God placed this baby boy into our lives with purpose, and I’ll always find great comfort in that 🙏🏻
