Update (TL/DR: Goodbye, grab the download while you can)
A lot has gone on this year. At the back of 2024, plans were put in place for a massive compilation to come out at the back end of 2025, with a large selection of artists and a defined vision of what the LP would be. Artists were brought on board, and some of the music sent in was absolutely phenomenal.
Unfortunately, 2025 has been stressful and busy in my personal life, and as such, these plans never amounted to more than a few conversations. As a result, the compilation will NOT be happening, and tunes that were being sat on are now free for the artist to do something else with.
In addition to all of this, it is becoming increasingly difficult for smaller labels to exist in the modern world. This is being made even harder by the likes of Bandcamp (for years a fantastic support for small artists and labels) pushing paid subscriptions on labels (on top of taking cuts of their money) as well as enforcing a change away from existing payment providers to a new, untested one (who require a ridiculous amount of details from people to set up an account).
So, despite the false starts, plans, and ideas, it comes to pass that Nyctophilia Recordings will cease to exist very shortly.
I would like to say a MASSIVE thank you to everyone who was involved in the first release and everyone who has supported this project - whether through interaction on social media, or buying the album when it was released.
