On December 1, 2025, the Operations Management Club successfully held the event with the theme โOM CAREER CATALYST: From Potential to Performanceโ at the Entrepreneurship Hall, an event specifically intended for 4th year Operations Management students who share the same vision of transforming their academic preparation into professional performance.
The program formally opened with the Invocation, followed by the Philippine National Anthem and the Bicol University Hymn. After this, welcome remarks were delivered, setting the tone for an afternoon of learning and engagement. The event highlighted the important role of Operations Management students as future industry leaders and underscored the importance of honing both technical skills and character.
The first guest speaker, headed by SFO1 Bernardino G. Garcera, opened his session with a group activity that tested each groupโs qualities as potential leaders. Through this activity, OM4 students were challenged to collaborate, make decisions under pressure, and demonstrate initiative. SFO1 Garcera emphasized that social responsibility, personal accountability, resilience, critical thinking, and volunteerism are core factors in becoming a good leader, reminding students that leadership is less about position and more about service and integrity.
After the insightful first lecture, the participants enjoyed a snack break coupled with a fun mini game designed to freshen up the mood and lighten the students. Five students joined the game, bringing fun and laughter to everyone. In the end, Angelie Lazona declared as the winner, adding a memorable highlight to the dayโs program.
The second guest speaker, Nelson A. Aguilar, then took the stage to share his inspiring journeyโfrom being an OJT student and graduating learner to becoming a Replenishment Planner at Lion Commercial Corporation. His talk centered on how students can transform internship experiences into career success, emphasizing the value of professionalism, adaptability, and continuous learning. By sharing real-life experiences, he encouraged OM4 students to treat every internship task as an opportunity to build competence and credibility for future employment.
To formally close the event, Event Head Mary Gwyneth A. Callos delivered the closing remarks, expressing gratitude to the speakers, organizers, and participants for making the activity a success. She reiterated the goal of the program: to move from merely recognizing oneโs potential to consistently performing and leading in the field of Operations Management. As the last event of the OMC for this year, OM Career Catalyst ended the clubโs calendar on a successful and empowering note, truly serving as a meaningful stepping stone for OM4 students as they prepare to enter the professional world.
