After visiting his friend Charlotte Gainsbourg, Jacob’s noticed a monogrammed wardrobe trunk that she had coated in black paint. Voila! With inspiration in abundance, Jacobs decided to disrupt the patrimony and team up with , creator of the eighties and stylist of Rockstar looks from Debby Harry’s , to Simon LeBon’s . The renowned monogrammed canvas was covered with inspired by original sketches from Sprouse himself; unknowingly setting a precedent in the fashion industry as this would be the first time that a luxury fashion house would collaborate with an urban/street artist.
