Just like rediscovering a favorite book long forgotten on the shelf, The Man of the West is dusting off a project idea that’s been waiting patiently for its moment.

But here’s the catch: you’ll have to wait until next Tuesday, January 21st, to learn what it is! In the meantime, here are some exciting updates about what’s on the horizon.

The Prancing Pony Podcast is Returning to YouTube!
At long last, we’re relaunching the Prancing Pony Podcast YouTube channel, with a target of going live by the end of the month! This channel will become the home for more than 400 hobbit-sized episodes of Today’s Tolkien Times. Over the following months, we’ll also be adding Rings of Power Wrap-Up and Prancing Pony Podcast content, so you can enjoy all of our Middle-earth discussions on YouTube once more.

Video Podcasts May Be Coming!
Alan is also exploring the possibility of recording The Prancing Pony Podcast on video starting next season—cohosts willing, of course.

Simplified Social Media Presence
To make it easier to find us, most of our social media accounts will now use the handle , including YouTube, Instagram, Twitter, Bluesky, and more.

This project might grow to be a great one...but it's name you must discover for yourself! Mark your calendars for January 21st to find out what Alan has planned, when it’s happening, and where you can tune in. We’re thrilled to share this new chapter with you!

The second installment of the Rings and Realms Retrospective for Season 2 is out! Join Corey, Kirsten, Alan, and Maggie as they discuss Númenor and for a Q&A with the guys towards the end. Make sure you don't miss the special scene with Alan at the very beginning (which we often say is a very good place to start)!

Looking forward to the rest of the discussions as they are released!

Join Alan, James, and Sara as they mourn Mírdania, remember Rían, and are apprehensive for Arondir in their discussion of Season 2, Episode 7 of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power - 'Doomed to Die'.

Celebrimbor enjoys a cuppa during a delightful delusion, Glüg considers organizing an Uruk labor union, and Mister Mouse proves there's a glitch in the Matrix. From mountains made of Lego bricks to Mírdania's unexpected battlefield knowledge; from Starship lyrics to Princess Bride quotes, the RoPWU team continue to have things. to. say.

Listen in as Alan, Sara, and James talk through the things they love - and the things they don't love so much - about Season 2, Episode 6 of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power - 'Where is He?'

While we still ask that question about Celeborn, it's Adar asking the question about whatever Halbrand is going by these days. From the next-level gaslighting of Celebrimbor to the pronunciation of smial; from the amazing horns of Númenor to Disa's new bat-signal, the RoPWU team have got opinions. And yes, that includes the ripped-from-context use of an iconic book and movie line.
