The State Government should consider issuing permits for e-rickshaws throughout the entire municipal corporation area of Dharamsala to alleviate the issue of hazardous parking caused by four-wheelers and taxis. Currently, without a three-wheeler commercial service, local residents resort to using personal cars for daily activities such as shopping, accessing healthcare, commuting to offices, and attending educational centers. Allowing e-rickshaws in the municipal corporation area of Dharamsala would significantly reduce the unnecessary congestion caused by larger vehicles, facilitating smoother traffic flow for general movement. This initiative not only addresses the issue of parking but also contributes to the reduction of carbon emissions and noise pollution, promoting a cleaner and quieter environment. The success of such passenger rickshaws in the McLeod Ganj area of upper Dharamshala serves as a positive precedent for the implementation of this sustainable transportation solution.
