Watermelon Ice Cream 🍉 🍦

So fun making ice cream at home with your kids! Watermelon ice cream is the perfect flavor for summer.

I recommend following the recipe by - so easy with only 4 ingredients. We added chocolate chips to give it a Friendly’s Wattamelon vibe (a classic!)

Summer Adventures on Long Island: Ocean Beach, Fire Island 🌊 ☀️

If you live on Long Island, it’s basically a rule you must visit Fire Island at least once during the summer. One of my favorite places because it still holds on to the laidback summer beach vibe I crave in summer. And fun fact: my husband and I actually met on Fire Island at Flynn’s, 12 summers ago! 🤯

Times have changed since those “Sunday Funday” days, and we’re now taking the Bayshore ferry to Ocean Beach with our kids. With a good mix of town and beach, it’s the perfect spot to take kids.

Tips:
☀️ Be sure to bring a wagon to carry all of your belongings if heading to the beach ($15 charge on the ferry, but makes life so much easier).
☀️ Check out the playground - with areas of toddlers and older kids to play (Gated and conveniently located by the public bathrooms!)
☀️ Food on the beach isn’t permitted, but there’s so many great, kid friendly restaurants (We ate lunch at )
☀️ Ice cream for dinner is a must - We highly recommend 🍦
☀️ Most businesses take credit cards but recommend bringing cash to avoid high processing fees and for cash only places, like kids selling lemonade on the walkways! 💛

Summer adventures on Long Island: Fishing charter 🎣

The twins got my husband a fishing charter for Father’s Day & we just recently went and had the best day! Greyson is “hooked” (pun intended 😂) and can’t wait to go again.

Highly recommend - Family friendly, so helpful and knowledgeable. Goes out of Port Jeff so calmer Long Island Sound water (a must for us motion sickness people) and perfect location to return to if you want to spend the day in Port Jefferson.

My Hershey Faves 🍫 🍽️ 🥤

The food options at Hersheypark and Hershey Chocolate World are amazing. There is so much good food and obviously so many delicious chocolately treats! 🍫 😋

A meal at The Chocolatier is a must! It’s a sit restaurant right at the entrance of the park. Great sized kids meal portions and delicious food options with sweet touches, such as raspberry chocolate vinaigrette dressing for salads. They also have a super cute Ferris wheel appetizer sampler. 🎡

Ice cream at Milton’s (also near the entrance) is a MUST, especially on hot days. 🍦

Chocolate World has a food court at the back with amazing treat and meal options! I had to try the peanut butter milkshake and s’mores cold foam cold brew and neither disappointed. ☕️

I wish I had a bigger stomach to try some more goodies 😂

Taste-Safe Treasure Hunt 🏴‍☠️

Dig for and count pirate treasure in a taste safe sensory bin! 🪏 Using graham cracker sand and M&Ms, little ones can dig for buried treasure and fill their treasure chests.

✨ For older kids, label the treasure chests with numbers so they can count as they fill their boxes.

Ahoy mateys and shiver me timbers! No one will be walking the plank around here with some really fun pirate themed ideas! 🏴‍☠️🦜

The Sweetest Place on Earth 🍫 ✨

We had the best time at Hersheypark earlier this week. I was so impressed with how much there is to do (for all ages!). With the main theme park, The Boardwalk, ZooAmerica and Chocolate World all on same property, there’s endless options of fun, experiences… and chocolate 🍫

My top tips:
🍫 If arriving at open, head through & start at the back of the theme park for rides.
🍫 Get the refillable cup they sell for $22.95. Worth it especially on hot days.
🍫 Sea lion and seal show is so cute. The feed experience ($15) after the show is worth it.
🍫 Get the app - shows wait times, food options, and a helpful map.
🍫 Chocolate World is a must for yummy treats, shopping, characters, and experiences. My kids loved the factory tour!! You can park for 3 hours free if just visiting there.

We can’t wait to go back again! 🎉

“Sharks in the Water” Mocktail 🦈

My kids have been all about a “fancy drink” lately so we had to do a fun themed one for shark week.

Fill cup with ice - the more ife, the more they will hold up the dummies and keep them from sinking to the bottom. Fill cup about 3/4 full with lemonade. Add 2-3 pumps of Davinci blue raspberry syrup. Add shark gummies. Top with Sprite (optional) and enjoy! 💙

Can also be turned into a cocktail with some vodka or a prosecco topper for an adult treat as well! 🥂
