Cheers to the Dads! This Father’s Day, mix up this simple yet timeless cocktail to toast the special dad in your life!

Classic Old Fashioned
· 1 teaspoon sugar
· 3 dashes Angostura bitters
· 1 teaspoon water
· 2 ounces bourbon (or rye whiskey, if preferred)
· Garnish: orange twist

1. Add the sugar and bitters into a mixing glass, then add the water, and stir until the sugar is nearly dissolved.
2. Fill the mixing glass with ice, add the bourbon, and stir until well-chilled.
3. Strain into a rocks glass over one large ice cube.
4. Express the oil of an orange twist over the glass, then drop into the glass to garnish.

This delicious Blackberry Margarita recipe from our friends at is a must have this summer!

- 2 shots Corrido Blanco Tequila
- 1 shot Blackberry syrup, store-bought or homemade
- 1 shot triple sec
- 1 ½ oz fresh Lime juice
- Black Salt for Rim

- Combine Tequila, blackberry syrup, Triple Sec, and lime juice in to a shaker cup.
- Shake well until very cold.
- Pour in to an old fashioned cocktail glass with ice.
- Garnish with fresh blackberries and dried lime wheel.

Brittany Forman, Media’s Borough Manager, is featured in our May Mgazine. Her background is in community and economic development and is driven that every child should have access to opportunities. Brittany holds a graduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania's Fels Institute of Government, has served as a Presidential Management Fellow and budget analyst with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and helped lead the area as a Director at ESI, an economic consulting firm. She serves on the Delaware County Authority, and Villanova University’s MPA Advisory board. She loves shopping on State Street, reading light-hearted murder mysteries, and rooting for the Eagles.

Renee Patrone enjoys hospitality and helping people celebrate life in the way that is most authentic to them. After a 10-years of event coordination and planning, she founded Events By Renee in 2007. Renee credits much to publisher Sally Holleb from Main Line Today. “I was like 23 years old and my publisher was dragging me around to events,” says Renee with a laugh. “I didn’t know what the hell I was doing! But I did it.”

“As an entrepreneur, I was thinking, ‘Okay, what can I start that won't have me working on my feet every weekend as a wedding planner?’” Renee thought about gathering experienced staff to help hosts with throwing their parties.
