Been seeing this issue a lot lately, and honestly, it breaks my heart. So many young people are confused, hurt, and stuck — they want to get married to someone of their choice, but their parents won't listen. And the kids? They don't know how to make their parents understand. The moment they try to reason, emotions explode, "tameez" lectures start, and the conversation dies before it even begins.
So I made this video — because sometimes our own logic doesn't land when it comes from us. It's like outsourcing the conversation. Let someone else say what you've been trying to say for years.
In this video, I'm speaking directly to the parents — with love, with respect, and with logic. Reminding them of something we've forgotten as a culture: Islam gave our children the right to choose their spouse. The Prophet ﷺ honored that right. Yet we treat this massive, life-defining decision like our kids are too immature to handle it — while pushing them toward silent suffering, secret relationships, or worse… zina.
Dear parents, please — save your children from haram. Listen to them. Their choice is not rebellion, it's trust. They're coming to you because they want your dua, your blessing, your involvement. Don't push them away.
