I started small too.
I also had doubts.
I knew close to nothing.

4 years ago I managed my first business social media account for a school project. I didn’t get a single sale from that Instagram account. 🙁 Then I managed another and got a few sales before I gave up. I tried again and was able to invite 20 people to an event. 😮 Got one more go then I sold almost all my pre-loved books. 🤩

Everyone has to start somewhere. The important part is the step you take on your journey to the ever-changing finish line. 🏃‍♀️

The hardest lesson I had to learn is that the further you are from where you started, the harder everything becomes. These next-level challenges, however, signify that you have gotten better 💪.

Remember to combat your doubts with an eagerness to learn 👩‍🎓. I knew I had a lot more to know about managing social media, so I took a two-month-long training to be better at it. Now I am geared with an armor of confidence and a sharpened sword of knowledge.

You can’t deny that we run out of ideas fast when going overdrive on hustle mode 😴. When it’s your job to constantly knock on that creativity box, you shouldn’t be afraid to sometimes find it empty.

But what will I do if I need a new and exciting idea right now 😰? Let’s spark a flame 🔥 on the embers of your creativity burnout with a few of my favorite techniques.

• Reuse your best ideas 💡

If you’ve done something right, do it again! Why make-up an entirely new idea when you can add more to something that already works? This is your chance at making it better.

• Put a twist on the old 👴

Search for other people’s ideas. Now don’t go copying everything. Riding on trends are good ways to grab tons of engagement in a short period. Add that tiny bit of magic you have left and make it your own.

• Work on something else 🙇‍♀️

Sometimes all we need is a brain refresher. You’d be surprised at the most random of times and places that jumpstart your creativity.

• Take breaks 💆

When a machine starts overheating it will shut down if you force it to work. Don't make the mistake of bridging an unescapable burnout. Take multiple small breaks and let your brain work effortlessly.

Because I’m feeling extra generous today, I will bestow upon you the 3 keys to becoming an excellent copywriter.

🔑 𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝟭: 𝗟𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗻 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁

You need to go on a blind date with two people:
💖 your audience,
💖 and yourself.

Ask the 20 questions and get to know them better. Find their sweet spots, their quirks, and the challenges. It is good to understand who you are talking to, but it is better to know your voice in the conversation as well.

🔑 𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝟮: 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗻 𝗶𝘁 𝗼𝘂𝘁

Some people might keep this key in the “unimportant” box but using it will definitely open more doors for you. Plan it out, and make an outline of what you’re trying to say. This not only helps in keeping your message on track but it also helps you generate more ideas as you go.

I started small too. I also had doubts. I knew close to nothing. 4 years ago I managed my first business social media account for a school project. I didn’t get a single sale from that Instagram account. 🙁 Then I managed another and got a few sales before I gave up. I tried again and was able to invite 20 people to an event. 😮 Got one more go then I sold almost all my pre-loved books. 🤩 Everyone has to start somewhere. The important part is the step you take on your journey to the ever-changing finish line. 🏃‍♀️ The hardest lesson I had to learn is that the further you are from where you started, the harder everything becomes. These next-level challenges, however, signify that you have gotten better 💪. Remember to combat your doubts with an eagerness to learn 👩‍🎓. I knew I had a lot more to know about managing social media, so I took a two-month-long training to be better at it. Struggle 1

I don’t like copywriting 😫. Now hold up! ✋ Put your typing pitchforks down and let me explain. As a visual learner, it's a struggle to put my explosive thoughts 🤯 into blocks of text. So it was not surprising when I realized copywriting would be the hardest part of being a social media manager. 😪 I thought images were enough to convey a message, but boy was I wrong. Like me, some people have their preferences 👍 and strengths 💪. Others might work better with words. Knowing this, we have to practice providing both scroll-stopping images AND memorable captions that cater to all types of learners. Coming from a challenged copywriter 🙇‍♀️, my best advice is to imagine a two-way conversation. 💡First, assess the person, 💡tell them what they want to hear, 💡keep it simple, 💡and be enthusiastic about the topic. That makes it easier now doesn’t it? It’s easy to get intimidated 😥 by graphic design. Yes, it takes a lot of work to be amazing, but you don’t need much to be good. With helpful editing tools and some quick tips, you can create visually appealing works too 👍. 𝟭. 𝗗𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗼𝗻 𝗮 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗿 𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗺𝗲 It’s best to start at two or three. When picking colors take note of complimenting combinations. Do not put two clashing colors together for they can be a pain to the eyes. 𝟮. 𝗣𝗶𝗰𝗸 𝟭-𝟮 𝗳𝗼𝗻𝘁𝘀 You can go up to three, but any more than that is discouraged. Too many fonts in one image can look messy. Also, practice picking fonts that are readable even at a small size. The content you put there would be wasted if people don’t understand. 𝟯. 𝗗𝗼𝗻’𝘁 𝗯𝗲 𝗮𝗳𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝘀𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗲 I personally struggle with this tip but it's definitely a good practice. Blank space on the image emphasizes your subject and allows the viewer to rest their eyes. 𝟰. 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝘀 Don’t be afraid to take inspiration from others. Most of the time I look at Facebook ads or create Pinterest boards, but sometimes I find inspiration from product designs at home! 📌 𝗧𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗲: It’s okay to borrow ideas, but we should never copy someone else’s work. The best time to post on social media would be on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays at 10:00 am. ⌚️ These are considerably less busy days than Monday and it’s good to post in the morning when people might check their phones on travel 🚌, during breaks 🍶, or for breakfast 🍳. Make it simple and impactful in the first sentence. You can add more context through a thread if need so. 2. Ride on that trend 🏄🏻‍♂️ When news breaks out, Twitter is usually the first place where people buzz about it. Take advantage of a period of time where thousands of users are active and searching for the same topic. You can look at the right side of your feed to find current trends on the platform. 3. Controversy! 👁‍🗨 People tend to engage with controversial opinions first. However please remember to never be hurtful or discriminating in your opinions. Not all publicity is good. 4. You can hack the system by using image compressors online. Take note of each platform's storage limits and compress your high-quality image to that size. Albeit you will still lose some quality… but with fresh eyes, it will look just as amazing. 💖 Image Sizes on other Platforms: 📸𝗜𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺: As long as you stay within 1080x1080 pixels, Instagram will retain your image quality.
