Last year my aunt passed away two days after my birthday. She was “the” aunt. It was such a tough loss. Still is.

When I travelled to London for the funeral, we gathered together a great deal as a family (I’ve got a large family). While there, my dear cousin Lydia had her live recording of her gospel album and members of our family joined to support her. I got to be a part of it sharing words of encouragement. Then this happened!! 👇

What I didn’t realize was how much the worship during that live recording helped with grief. It was an awesome experience! These songs have been a source of strength for me especially now in the wake of my mother’s death.

The full video recording of this song is being released this Good Friday. Perfect timing!!

To my surprise I am featured, not as a soloist but offering opening words of encouragement. See a snippet below.

I’m reminded of the power of worship as we go through.

It’s been 10 years since Ferguson. I remember feeling the horror of seeing images of Michael Brown’s lifeless body on the street. He was unarmed. Our hearts were broken as we wondered if all lives truly mattered.

This weekend I’m looking forward to learning more about matters of justice and conscience. Thank you Edward Woods III and your amazing team for sharing your vision and organizing this historic gathering. Feeling humbled and honored to be among such amazing speakers.

Good Morning!

I thought I’d share this beautiful view with you. Walking this morning I was reminded of God’s majesty and faithfulness.

Every day the sun rises and sets on time! God does this. Nature is telling of God’s goodness and might. Whatever you are facing today, may you find comfort in this - God is able to take care of you.
