920 am UPDATE
Cogan is currently back open.
There are still numerous side streets off the main roads that are flooded. Thank you.
845 am UPDATE
San Filippo is open both north and south bound. Many of the side streets are still flooded and not accessible. Please, if you have to go out, avoid the flooded areas.
Cogan is still closed due to the flood waters.
515 am UPDATE:
Numerous roads in the Southeast and Southwest sections of the City are still unpassable and flooded including:
- San Filippo between Fisher and Fountainbleau with numerous vehicles stuck in the road
- Cogan Between Reading and San Filippo
- Numerous side streets off San Filippo and also DeGroodt
Officers are currently waiting for the sunrise to further evaluate areas. Please, if you had standing water in your area last night, stay home until we can further assess these areas.
For the schools, we have not received word from the school board but school busses will not be able to get into the neighborhoods to pick children up until the water subsides.
There is still more rain forecast to fall this morning and it is estimated at least 12" of rain fell in the southern section of the City last night. Please be patient as the water subsides and if you can stay home, please do.

Bayside Lakes / Eldron (completely unpassable)
Cogan/Sarasota

The Palm Bay Police Department wants to remind you, if you see standing water on the roadways to Slow Down and Turn Around, Don't Drown. With the storms this evening, the following roads have been closed due to flooding:
Babcock St. at St. John's Heritage Parkway
San Filippo Dr. at Eldron Blvd.
More road closures are expected, and multiple vehicles are already submerged past window levels. Many side / residential streets in these areas are not accessible and completely flooded.
Please, unless it is an emergency, stay home until these storms pass and the flooding can subside. The storms are expected to be in the area for the rest of the night. Stay safe,
