We know a few of you have been asking in the comments when Gillis will be back, so here's the latest according to Sport's Illustrated.

"I don't know if he did everything, but he did most everything," Painter said of Gillis. "So that's good. I think any time you're dealing with somebody's back, it's always good to wait until the next day to see how they are also. Hopefully, he feels good tomorrow and can practice tomorrow and will be ready to go Saturday."

Purdue Football will have a familiar face assisting the program during bowl preparations this month, as former Boilermaker quarterback Drew Brees will serve as an assistant coach, it was announced on Thursday, Dec. 15, by vice president and director of athletics Mike Bobinski.
