Baseball's ⚾️ has been the theme all July! Catching Red Sox games and hitting up the Bats games has been the perfect way to chill out as we dive into the second half of fishing season. Plus, what's not to love about baseball? The history, the park vibes, the sounds—it’s just an awesome game!

Taking my camera to the ballparks was a welcome change as well. I love breaking out of my comfort zone and trying to capture new things. If you’re not challenging yourself, you’re not learning or improving. Plus, while it’s nice to say you only want to work in the outdoor industry, you might find better opportunities if you look beyond that.

I can't wait to get back on the water soon, and I'm hoping to catch a few more games at the ballpark before the season wraps up!

Just getting set to tie one on again. Additionally, I feel like there's a hook change coming in 2025 after a little experimenting seems to have failed. The bites have been there every trip but the hook-up ratios are not where they should be. It's left me scratching my head a few times now. All you can do is make a change back to the stuff you know works and see where the differences truly are occurring.

Here are some random pics I took this week. So here's the deal: we stumbled across an old truck that had a lot of vibe, and we thought it deserved some snaps. Sometimes, the rough and rusty stuff is exactly what you need to get those creative juices flowing. It’s a nice change of pace from what I usually post and gives me the freedom to just do my thing without stressing about sticking to a brand.

His style is unique, and he makes some awesome videos and photos of all sorts of stuff he finds on his adventures. It’s really helped me mix things up from my usual fishing posts and have a little more fun with my photography again.

Every day, more AI is popping up in photos, videos, and everyday life. While it can be a super handy tool at times, there are also a lot of downsides. You’ve got to feel for the writers and artists out there—their sharp eyes, skilled hands, and unique visions bring us to some incredible places. I doubt we can ever genuinely replace that creativity and passion with software. There’s something special about experiencing art live or creating it yourself. I do think we need that as humans to feel fulfilled. Everyone sees and feels art differently.

When you look at AI it's hard to put that genie back in the bottle. But it’s worth having conversations about it and weighing the pros and cons of what’s out there. People are going to need to educate themselves on distinguishing between what's real and what is not..... and at a point it's going to become difficult.

I hope that people continue to make art, write, and stay passionate about what they love. And for the record, yes.... this photo is real.

I've been rolling with the MG12 and the Speed Demon Pro 7'-3" Jig/Worm rod for the last three years, and it’s been awesome for kayak fishing, especially with Texas rigged soft plastics. The rod moves really well with the kayak, and the lightweight MG12 is super comfy to use all day long. This setup really gets it done, whether it’s the rod driving the hooks or the reel’s speed, weight, and durability that has kept me fishing. After a few years of use, I’m really stoked to recommend this combo to anyone looking for quality gear that won’t empty your wallet.

To sum up the long weekend, we went fishing, took some pics, hung out with friends, and watched some fun movies. Nothing crazy, but it was definitely a good time. I can’t wait for those mornings when I don’t need a sweatshirt. How was your 1st holiday weekend of summer?
