Winter Weather Advisory for most of the tri-state area with Winter Storm Watches for Northwestern portions of CT.

Timing: Expect snow to start between 11am-3pm from west to east on Saturday afternoon. Snow will changeover to sleet and eventually all rain in the early morning hours on Sunday (this will take longer the further north you live).

Amounts: Updated snow map below, we are lucky this storm is taking an interior track allowing warm air to filter in. I also would expect 0.05-0.10 of ice before the transition.

First substantial snowfall of the year for the tri-state area moves in Sunday afternoon between 1-5pm, heaviest between 7-11pm before it tapers off before sunrise on Monday.

As of now, most of our area will see 4-8 inches of snow with the exception of Long Island and southern NJ seeing about half that amount.

So - did you want a white Christmas? Well you may be in luck, expect some light snow tomorrow morning starting around @6/7am till about noon… a dusting to around an inch expected.

Winter Weather Advisory for the tri-state area... rain starts this evening and changes over to an icy mix after midnight through the morning commute on Monday. Snow begins late Monday night/Tuesday Morning between 10pm-2am. Rain/Snow mix will start along the coastlines/NYC/Long Island before changing to all snow Tuesday Morning. Snow is expected to last into Tuesday evening... updated snow map below:

Winter Weather Advisory for most of the tri-state area... Snow moves in late tonight and lasts through tomorrow afternoon. Not a big storm at all, a general 1-3 inches of snow for most with some spots getting 3-4 inches in Northwestern CT.
