Apart from the basics, What should be an SEO professional good at?
He/She should know how to Analyze data.
Data is everywhere and in the field of digital marketing, we have to make decisions based on data.
A few months back, I got an invitation to a job on Upwork to do Due Diligence on 4 websites.
The client asked me to analyze Google Analytics data and make a report on important outcomes according to the website analytics.
What I included in the report:
1. Traffic Trends
👉Is the traffic growing, steady, or declining over time? Are there any unusual spikes or drops?
2. Number of New Users
👉How many USERS (unique visitors) have been there for the last month?
3. User Engagement
👉What are the engagement/bounce rate and session duration?
4. Traffic Sources
👉Is there a diverse range of traffic sources (organic, direct, social, referral traffic)?
👉What are the top countries where traffic is coming from?
5. Keyword Diversity
👉Is there a diverse range of keywords from which traffic is coming or only a few keywords?
Whether you are going to acquire an existing site or build a new one, DATA plays a crucial role in decision-making.
So, an SEO professional should learn how to analyze data and pull out valuable outcomes that help in making the right decision.
