“Why…”

“Why did it end up like this?!”
…
After class, the scene of students walking out the gate. It was quite windy that day, the falling leaves fly all over the school. The sound of the wind blowing was overtaken by whispers of admiration for a beauty hidden by bandages. As she walks towards the gate with, at the very least, an upset expression. Her jet-black hair flowed with the wind like a silent river along with the leaves.
“Let’s see who this bastard is,” Jan said to herself ready to see who was behind the misfortune that befell her.
Only to realize.
“Hi.”
“Really? That’s all you had to say? I thought we were going to have a deep conversation.”
“Huh? Oh, right.”
“The apology, Jan. We’re talking about the apology.”
Jan stood there like a broken radio. What stood in front of her isn’t the spoiled bastard who was in her mind all day. It was rather, far from the truth as it can be.
“I’ll skip the introductions for now, wanna go for coffee? I know a place.”
“S-sure,” Jan replied.
“I know it’s awkward and all, but please. Get in the motorcycle. Hold on tight, I don’t want another thing to happen to you because of me.”
“S-sure,” Jan replied.
The two rode off to a cafe almost out of town. They sat at an open table, and the waiter handed the menu to Jan.
“I’ll have the usual, thanks.”
“Right away sir, and what would miss over here order?” the waiter asked
“I’ll have the strongest you have, no sugar, please,” Jan replied while fixing her hair.
“First of all, I’m Drei. I apologize for not talking to you earlier in the morning, it was a rather busy day I had.”
“Y-yeah, I’m Jan,” Jan replied.
“I didn’t know it was this bad. I know you didn’t hit your head or something like that though,” Drei said, confusingly.
Drei stood up and sat beside Jan. As he reaches his hand towards Jan and-
“Ow! That hurts you-”
“Oh.”
“I guess a good flick can fix a broken radio,” Drei says while smiling.
Jan snapped out of whatever she was in. Drei then returned to his seat and waited for his coffee.
“You know this cafe?” Drei asked.
“No, usually I just buy coffee from the store near the house,” Jan replied.
“You know, even if you buy me a whole cafe, you can’t buy me off like that you bastard,” Jan said with eyes as cold as a blizzard.
“I know, I just want to make it up to you. So please, what CAN I do to make it up to you, I don’t want to be sued again,” Drei replied.
“I guess you don’t act like a spoiled brat as much as… uhm. As much as you don’t look like one,” Jan said while tapping the table.
“You’re quite feisty for someone who looks like a damsel in distress. You remind me of my cat, but it usually cuddles me whenever I want it to.”
“What’s that supposed to mean?” Jan asks while tilting her head.
“And besides, I don’t want anything to do with you anymore. The apology and the compensation money were enough, I was just here to get the apology.”
“No, I won’t let you leave until we settle this. You know I can see your, to say the least, upset face, right?” Drei insists on continuing the conversation.
“I’ll leave now, I just want to get my time back into writing poems, okay?” Jan says while she stands up.
They both got out of the cafe. Drei insists to drive her home.
“Come on, walking to your house from here would take forever. I’m really sorry so please, let me do this for you.”
“I guess you can,” Jan accepted Drei’s suggestion.
They got into Jan’s house, Jan hurriedly thanked Drei for the ride and got inside the house.
“What was that all about?” Drei asked himself and lets out a sigh.
…
…
“I can’t…”
“I mustn’t…”
“What the hell..”
“Is with that bastard?!”
“Leave me alone! I don’t want something like that again!”
…
“Why…”

…
“Why did it end up like this again?!”

That night Jan could only write so many poems to try and calm herself down. Tightly holding her pen, to let go of her raging emotions.
