At 23:00 on the 18th, the center of Typhoon Wipha was located about 280 kilometers south of Eluanbi, moving northwestward at a speed of 22 kilometers per hour. In the past, its intensity has increased slightly and its speed has been relatively fast. There are signs that the storm circle is expanding. At present, the subtropical high in the east has been strongly dominant. It is judged that after entering the southern part of the Bashi Strait, Wipha's path will continue to move westward, and the moving speed will gradually increase, generally heading towards the Pearl River in China to the Leizhou Peninsula.
2. The Meteorological Agency issued a marine typhoon warning at 11:30 am yesterday. The hottest rainfall areas on Saturday and Sunday will fall in Yilan, Hualien, Taitung and Hengchun. There is a probability of heavy rain in some areas and heavy rain in some mountainous areas. The Meteorological Agency has revised the rainfall in the eastern half of the region upward. Friends in Yilan, Hualien, Taitung and Hengchun must be vigilant.
3. In the southern Kaohsiung and Pingtung areas, due to the influence of the outer circulation of the typhoon, there will be local short-term thunderstorms. It is estimated that there will be stronger gusts in the afternoon and evening, and there will be local heavy rain in the mountainous areas. The wind direction will change from Sunday, and the rain will become more obvious, especially in the afternoon.
4. Taichung to Taoyuan is located on the leeward side of the Central Mountains, and the weather is relatively stable. Some areas are affected by dry descending air currents, with foehn winds and high temperatures.
5. Due to the influence of the outer circulation of the typhoon, there is a probability of average winds above level 9 or gusts above level 11 in some areas of Pingtung County from the evening of the 18th to the evening of the 19th (orange light).

There is a probability of average winds above level 6 or gusts above level 8 in parts of New Taipei City, Taoyuan City, Hsinchu City, Hsinchu County, Taichung City, Nantou County, Tainan City, Kaohsiung City, Yilan County, Hualien County, Taitung County (including Orchid Island and Green Island), Penghu County, Kinmen County, and Lienchiang County (yellow light signal).
