Chocolate chip cookie fries
Ingredients
120 g unsalted butter (browned if you’d like that nutty richness)
30 g brown sugar
60 g granulated sugar
1 egg
~160 g all-purpose flour
½ tsp baking powder
150 g milk chocolate chips
Instructions
Brown the butter (optional):
Melt butter in a saucepan, cook until lightly browned and fragrant, then let it cool slightly.
Mix base dough:
In a bowl, cream the browned (or regular softened) butter with both sugars until fluffy.
Beat in the egg until well combined.
Stir in flour and baking powder until just mixed.
Fold in the chocolate chips.
Shape the “fries”:
Turn the dough out onto parchment paper and shape or roll into a rectangle approx. ½ inch thick.
Slice into thin sticks—think the size of French fries.
Chill the fries (freezing time):
To ensure they keep their fry shape and don’t spread too much, chill in the freezer (or fridge) for 30 minutes to 1 hour before baking.
Bake:
Preheat oven to 350 °F (175 °C).
Arrange the chilled cookie fries on a baking sheet lined with parchment.
Bake for 10–12 minutes, until the edges are lightly golden but centers stay soft.
Finish & serve:
Let them cool slightly—they’ll firm up as they rest.
Serve warm with a dipping sauce such as Nutella, caramel, or strawberry jam.
