G R A T I T U D E
From the moment my eyes open, gratitude has become a non-negotiable. Starting my morning being grateful for another day, that I get to wake up to these precious faces, for my health, for my cozy bed, for the life we have and the one we’re creating.

It used to be the to do list and the problems to fix. What needs to get done now and later. And they all still exist and I will get to them. But I’m finding it way easier to tackle them when I’ve started from a place of gratitude instead of overwhelm.

May we all know a love like hers in our lifetimes ✨

I’m trying to put into perspective how magical this little being is. Hazel is the kind of dog that over the years multiple of my vet med coworkers start telling the new people about before I even get a chance. “You have to meet her”, “Carly has the best dog”, “Hazel is perfect”. And I mean my vet meddies know dogs but it happens with family and friends too. The kind of dog not-dog people somehow still end up liking, or allergic people suffer through just to pet her. When you catch her eyes behind her bangs you know she’s staring straight into your soul. And while she’s truly not perfect as no being is, her love for humans really is perfection. I seriously do not know what we did in this life to deserve her love, but I’m grateful for it every moment of every day.

We’ve officially left Vancouver and these beautiful humans. I absolutely cried hugging them goodbye. The gratitude we have for these 2 is endless.

Kyle has known Jon since they were just wee, and the 3 of them went to high school together. I slid into the picture with Kyle, and we just kind of all click. The kind of friends you only get to see once a year, but it’s like no time has passed. Also the kind of friends that we’ve gotten to live the real life version of FRIENDS with for 2 seasons now. Season 3 TBD, but the girls are voting for Summer 22’ 💁🏽‍♀️

We’re leaving Vancouver this week to start slowing making our way back to Ontario - and I’m in complete denial about it. How lucky are we to have found such difficult places to leave. It tells me we won’t be away for long.

It’s an almost daily activity for me. I have a theory it’s where a piece of all our souls go at the end of each of our lives, and that’s why it keep growing. Yeah it’s a stretch. But I guess I find it exciting or comforting to think about becoming part of the sun when we leave this life.

Babe’s face when he sees fresh pow on a mountain. Luckily we’ve got a week of lift tickets at Revelstoke starting tomorrow and they’re having record breaking snowfalls 🙌🏼

We’re currently sitting at the bottom of the hill and can’t see a darn thing through the dense fog. Yet Ky’s debating buying a ticket because he can’t possibly wait for tomorrow😂 The line ups for vaccine verification changed his mind. We’ll come back this afternoon to get our lift cards and stickers so we’re ready to roll right onto the gondola tomorrow at 8:30am. Shouldn’t be hard to arrive on time considering we’ll be staying at our ski cabin on wheels in the parking lot 🚐

Who moved back into the van after living apartment life for half a year and forgot all the little things we do to keep our home on wheels running smoothly? 🙋🏽‍♀️🙋🏽‍♂️ Guilty. We sure did!

We’re getting back into the groove now but gosh those -40 temps in northern Ontario sure didn’t help. But if we have propane and the furnace works we can figure all the other things out in time. Our favourite upgrade has to be our new propane level sensor, no more guessing or running out unexpectedly 🙌🏼 Hope you’re staying toasty warm where ever you are too! 🔥

Secretly stoked our water tank is frozen because it’s increasing the likely hood of us making it all the way back to Vancouver this time around. Great excuse to defrost in those west coast temps and see some of our favourite humans 💁🏽‍♀️

Kyle and Hazel came back from their walk in the snow yesterday and as they entered the van I said, “Hello the loves of my life”. Kyle thought I said love, singular, and immediately said “oh who, Hazel?” 😂
