Do you have euphorbia in your collection?
🪴ID: Euphorbia Lactea

I think it’s easy to say most of us have confused cacti with euphorbia at some point and even though they are different they’re both really cool!😍🌵

Someday when we have more space to grow plants indoors, we think it would be so cool to have a giant euphorbia and cacti garden inside. Maybe a few agaves in there because I love them too and fit in so well!🌱

Let us know what we should pot into Pon next👇🏼

Pilea Peperomioides PART 4!🌱

Can you believe it’s already been about 4 months now?

Time has flown! And her growth exploded!🍃

If you haven’t pruned your plants yet, let this be your sign to give it a try! You just might end up with more plant than you started with! 🪴

I know, I know everyone is going to ask, where is the top part? Almost, but didn’t completely forget about it.😆

Update on the top half in part 5!🙌🏼

Last time we posted about the Pilea we weren’t ready for our website launch yet, so we weren’t selling Pon just yet. 🙃

Now, the Pon you see is available on our website!🎉 and it’s prerinsed for you!✨

These updates are fun! Can’t wait to share some more of what we’re working on in the near future.🌻

We’re excited to announce our website launch and our first product, pre-rinsed PON!🙌🏼🎉🪴

Thank you to everyone who’s supported us and told us we could do this. Neither of us expected to receive support like this from so many people!🥹

The more plants became part of our lifestyle, the community came with it and truly is the most beautiful part of it all.💚

🤩The idea of making this our full time job just felt like a silly dream before, but now we’re making real steps towards that being our reality!

Thank you Magnolia Garden Village for asking us to do our first workshop last October. At the time, it wasn’t something either of us thought we were ready for, and we had to step out of our comfort zone big time. It was something we needed and didn’t know it. That day was an incredible experience and unforgettable!✨

🌼Since then we have celebrated the start of spring at Bob's Garden Center with a workshop and Mother’s Day weekend at Plant4Good, thank you for having us and showing us so much love💚🌷

💦Semi-hydro quickly became our favorite way to grow plants indoors. It’s a different experience and relationship with your plants that we’ve come to love! 🍃

😆Our first time using PON, we didn’t love it. Little did we know at the time it was just the brand we were using and it didn’t have to be like that. It was very small pieces, dull in color, came with mounds of dust, and already had fertilizer in it.. which for us was a downside because we prefer to make our own nutrient mix!👇🏼

🙌🏼Our PON contains a colorful mix of lava rocks, zeolites, and pumice.

💨Its aerated nature allows plant roots to receive more oxygen, resulting in healthier roots and more foliage growth!

The rock sizes are perfect, not too big, not too small, and they do a great job at distributing water resulting in easier transitions to semi-hydro! 💧

We pre-rinse the PON for you to get rid of the majority of heavy dust and sludge that PON comes with too!

What’s your thoughts on the new logo?🌿

For us, it feels like we finally perfected what we feel represents us well without compromising the original vision for our ‘look’.

Alocasia don’t want their leaves cut off and here’s why!👇🏼🌱

🪴IDs: Alocasia Tigrina Superba Variegated, Alocasia Azlanii, Alocasia California Albo, and Alocasia Maharani

🤨You might be tempted to give your alocasia leaves a chop when they start getting funky looking..
.but let me explain why keeping them on might be more of a benefit than you’d think! 💭

1. Alocasia store nitrogen in its leaves and the stems too. Nitrogen is important for photosynthesis and keeping more leaves at once!

(Less nitrogen = less leaves at once)

2. Water is also stored in the leaves and a healthily hydrated plant is usually a well growing one too! 💦

✨Just because a leaf has began to yellow doesn’t mean it’s hurting the plant, it just means the nitrogen is being taken out of the foliage into the rhizome for the next one!

Unless your alocasia is being attacked by pests or let’s say had a bad injury, yellowing is normal in older foliage and will get replaced as the plant grows throughout its life!🪴

Once a leaf is fully yellow and crispy, it can usually be pulled off super easy! Or sometimes they just fall off!🍃

Will you try this with your alocasia?

Crack it like a glow stick!😂🫚

Monstera Deliciosa aerial roots can grow fast when this plant is happy and they might appear to quickly get in the way, but they don’t have to!👇🏼

We like to use the “glow stick” method by careful cracking the hard outer part of the root allowing it to become a bit more flexible!

This way you can get the root out of your way or put them back in the pot if there’s space!

With this Monstera there is no such thing as space in the pot, this one is COMPLETELY full and pushing the side out 😅

It’s also almost at the end of the pot, which means it will be getting a top chop and starting over in a new, larger, long pot maybe with Pon this time! 🌱

Do you chop, put it in the pot, or give it the glow stick crack?🧐🫚

Your collection needs begonias!👇🏼

Maybe not NEED, but I can tell you now that you won’t regret getting a few! ✨

I can hear you already thinking, you’ve heard they aren’t easy to care for and can be kind of temperamental 😆

🙌🏼 We thought the same thing, but with the understanding of a few things about begonias, caring for them has become a breeze!

1. They don’t like to be dry. Any longer than 1 day of dry soil and most begin to droop or maybe even drop a few leaves. Overwaterers, these guys are for you!💦

2. Begonias grow from a rhyzome, so when things go wrong like pest attacks or severe underwatering, they WILL throw a fit and drop everything. That doesn’t mean they are done for! With the water or pest removal they need, you’ll be surprised how quickly they will become bushy again! 🪴

3. Some begonias, especially if they appear velvety or even soft and fuzzy, most likely it requires high humidity! You can run a humidifier to help, put it in a terrarium, or enjoy the plant anyway with a little crunch to it here and there 😂

Plants go through phases, sometimes they are in their glow-up phase, and other times.. they need a little extra love! We love them no matter what and generally enjoy growing everything!

So what do you think? Are you willing to give begonias a chance?😆
