Oh Canada!!! 🇨🇦🇲🇬 Calling our freezing cold enduring 🥶, maple syrup eating 🍁, Malagasy Diaspora friends in Canada to join us for our 1st monthly virtual Meet & Greet on Sunday July 13, 4-6 pm ET.

It will be a chill opportunity to connect with other Malagasy Diaspora from around Canada, discuss exciting opportunities for social engagement, entrepreneurship, and much more.

Also, we will host an Association Spotlight for Project Mitahy where they will share a new project to support educational funding and resources for an underserved school in Fort Dauphin. Tune in to see ways in which you can volunteer and directly support Madagascar!

On Wednesday January 8, the global arts initiative “SDGs Through Arts - Madagascar” hosted a vernissage and live auction event to display 17 talented Malagasy artists, each creating an art piece capturing the essence of the 17 SDGs.

Held at Radisson Blu Waterfront, it was a great mixture of talent, artists, civil societies, representatives from different Malagasy Government ministries, and folks who believe in the power of art to raise awareness, educate, and mobilize on the 17 SDG objectives for the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

The 17 artists are: Maherisoa Rakotomalala, Clipse Teean, Arilala Ophélia Ralamboson, Rabearivelo Dina, Felana Rajaonarivelo, Michel Randria, Natoa Rasolonjatovo, Prince Andriantsilavo, Taraoo Ranarison, Finoana Ratovo Andriantseheno, Miangaly Elia Andriantsoa, Benjamin Raharijaona, Andri Marcel, Mahefa Rasamuel, Gerard Ramia Domenichini, Haintsoamalala, Nomenjanahary Hachlair, and Razafindralambo Jean-Nirina.

The were given the challenge to conceptualize and create the art pieces in 1 day, given 12-16 hours to complete, and the workshop was held at Maison Sociales des arts, at La Colline in Antananarivo.

These pieces will be auctioned starting at 2,300,000 Ariary or 500 euros with the artists receiving a portion of the proceeds and the rest in conjunction with Rotary Club Ivandry, creating 17 wells in vulnerable regions around Madagascar.

We at MadaLiving are saddened to hear the heartbreaking news of fire and tragic destruction happening right now in Los Angeles County, California affecting over 10,000 acres and displacing thousands of folks.

We have gotten news that a dear Malagasy Diaspora family has tragically lost their home and belongings in the Eaton Fire. We send our sincere thoughts and prayers and hope to help the family and their loved ones to get back on their feet and recuperate losses from this horrible fire.
