I still cannot believe that I've reached the big ✨3-0✨

Genuinely, as a child, I didn't think I would get to this point. I watched cycles of addiction and abuse steal the lives of friends and family. I didn't come out unscathed; my wounds have taken half my life to heal.

Thirty years of this life, and it could be very well half over. My grandmother didn't see her 60th birthday, and I doubt my mother will. I hope I can continue this little life of mine, one foot in front of the other, trying my very best to put some good into this world.

2024 was a hard year for me, filled with so much change, but an equal amount of growth. I’ve been so silent on this platform, while I try and decide how I can best show up in this space authentically.

Social media is so powerful in our world, and that power scares me a bit, if I’m honest. I love my simple little life, but I constantly feel a draw toward speaking up about my experiences. I hope to find a great way to do that in 2025!

We’re headed to Saskatoon to visit in the coming weeks and I’m so exited, but so nervous! I miss everyone so much, but I also don’t think I’ve really processed the emotions I had about leaving.

It’s been so hard for me to even look at the photos .photo took for us last year before we moved. This was the home I brought my babies home to. It was such a blessing to us, and we miss it.

Forgive me if I’m an emotional mess in the next couple weeks 😅

Happy Mother’s Day to all of you lovely moms out there! Today I’m celebrating all of my gorgeous mom friends, and the found mother figures in my life.

I’ve been on hiatus; taking time for myself and my family, and boy do I feel like a new woman! I felt so caught up in influencer culture and to be honest, I hate it. I’m not your standard “influencer,” and I don’t like selling people things. Do I love talking about things I’ve acquired that I truly like? Absolutely! Am I going to tell you NEED those things to achieve x, y, or z? No.

Thank you to those of you who continued to support me, and messaged me while I was away. You all mean so damn much to me. I adore you all 🤍

Apparently when you mix a black lab and a corgi, you something that looks like a golden retriever with teeny legs and a fluffy bum 😂

His little vintage overalls are nearly too small, and I only just got these overalls to match 😭

Seriously though, I’d been looking for good, high rise, ethically made, natural fibre overalls for like two years. Finally, I found Alder and snagged these ones!

Thoroughly impressed! I may match my toddler, but I don’t actually feel I look like a toddler, which is always my worry with wearing overalls 😂

My first month of my 2024 “no new buy” challenge is complete! I’ve found some holes in my wardrobe, and I’ve made a little list of things I’d like to add if I happen upon them at the thrift. 🏷️

I have a few companies I may repurchase from later in the year, as I have some foundation pieces that I adore! One of which is my autumn Springs blouse, pictured here!

I’m excited to be experimenting with my style again, and getting back to my cutesy-granny-cottage-chic self!

Brendan and I came together on this cute little DIY! 🪚 🖊️

He’s been getting into woodworking and wood whittling lately, and I had a vision for a cute alphabet hanging for the homeschool corner of the play/living room.

Some sharpie, some canvas, a piece of poplar, and some time is all it took! 🕰️

It’s not perfect, thats’s for sure 😅 but we love it!

There’s something so lovely about watching cookies as they bake! 🍪

This little girl and I baked some peanut butter cookies, and though the process was chaotic (as most things with toddlers are) we had loads of fun. Who doesn’t want to fight off toddler hands while trying to shape peanut butter cookies 😂

As she sat in front of the oven and watched the cookies bake, all of the struggles of the day melted away. Her wonder and giddy smile placed the days arguments far from here.

How I adore simple moments; ones that make the hard days well worth the struggle. Motherhood hasn’t been easy recently, but I think we’re on the upswing! 🤍
