It's finally here! After being closed for several years, the Bucksnort is back in action and wonderful. I play here THIS COMING SATURDAY at 7:30. I just got home from doing 7 weeks at Lake Of the Ozarks, doing 34 shows. It was my best summer ever there, so I'm truly at the top of my game. I can't wait to come back to the place that was my Colorado mainstay for many many years, playing there once a month in the old days. It's been up and running for about a month now and the word is out that it's going great.

There used to be a parking lot up the road, but that's no longer available. You can park all along the main road coming in, but just make sure you are far enough over to allow cars to get by. And please don't block anyone's driveway. It might be more complicated but hey, IT'S THE BUCKSNORT, AND IT'S BACK!!

Summer's winding down...

The grass out back at the Picklehead Mansion is turning brown the way it always does in August. And that means the aspen trees will be turning soon, the elk will be bugling and keeping us up at night, and since it's the mountains, it might even snow before too long. I know that sounds awful for a lot of you, but rest assured, most of the northern hemisphere will still have summer for a while. In any event, we hope your summer has been a good one so far. It's been eventful for us, with our founder busily doing music and comedy shows in Missouri. But he'll be home soon to enjoy the cool weather after lots of outside shows in the heat and humidity. And whatever the weather where you're at, rest assured that we are still faithfully sending out funny and acoustic music to the world because, after all is said and done, some things are just too good to change...

July!!

For all you Pickleheads in the U.S., Happy 4th of July!

We haven't been around as long as our country of course, but we've been around since the mid-1990's, so we're sort of an institution. We like to celebrate our national holiday here at the Picklehead Mansion high in the Colorado Rockies. We don't light fireworks up here because there's always a danger of wildfires in the mountains, so what do we do? We dress the elk and deer in patriotic attire, and we play our trademark funny music all day long out the window while eating burgers, hot dogs, and sweet corn!

So for all the Americans, Happy 4th, and for the rest of the many Pickleheads around the world, enjoy the peak of summer. Oops, what about the folks down in the southern hemisphere? Enjoy the 2nd month of winter!

CHANGE OF PLANS!

The Bucksnort is opening, but not until next weekend (4th of July). There were some complications in finishing up all the permits. Since that will be their very first open weekend, they decided to make it mostly for neighborhood folks, and to begin to work out the kinks and to try out the new menu.

So I WONT BE PLAYING THERE ON JULY 5TH AFTER ALL.

I know a lot of you said you were coming out. But HAVE NO FEAR, I'll still be playing there on Saturday, August 16th. That will be my first night back since they closed down, so it should be a great night of celebration.

Summertime!!

Summer has finally come to the foothills of the Rocky Mountains in Colorado. Our founder has left the state on his annual summer tour, but we're all still at it here at the Picklehead Manson. The elk are having babies out back (it's true!), what passes for a lawn up here in the mountains is growing high, and the windows are open so the neighbors can hear all the great Picklehead Music we play all day long while sending out orders around the globe. We hope you'll come visit us again soon, and Happy Summer!

A note from Wayne Faust...

After several years away, I'm proud to announce that The Legendary Bucksnort Saloon is back!!
15921 S Elk Creek Road
Pine, Colorado

At the end of a 7 mile mountain road off of Highway 285 west of Conifer, the Bucksnort has been a Colorado fixture for OVER 100 YEARS. An uncooperative neighbor got them shut down several years ago, and then they moved out of state. (Thanks a lot...)

But Pete Kazura, A VERY dedicated new owner bought the place and has been working diligently to get everything up to code and ready to open. Well, it's finally happening!

The Bucksnort was one of my favorite places to play, and I performed there once a month or so since the late 1980's. It was always a great place for Colorado fans, and a really fun place to visit for travelers from out of state, so I'm incredibly thrilled to be coming back.

GRAND OPENING – SUMMER 2025!

My first show back will be on Saturday, July 5th.
Showtime 7:30.

Since the Bucksnort is not a large place, IT WOULD BE ADVISABLE TO GET THERE VERY EARLY FOR THIS ONE!

My next shows will be on the following dates:

A note from Wayne...

5/8/25

It's been quite a year so far. This is a year of milestones for myself and my family.

First off, this June it will have been 50 years since I set out to make a living as a performer way back in the folk clubs of Chicago. I'll be celebrating that anniversary for my mostly annual Chicagoland show in Des Plaines, Illinois on Saturday, November 22nd, the Saturday before Thanksgiving. Mark your calendars for that one, because I think it will one for the ages.

Also this year, my wife and I will be celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary in November. Yikes! Good thing we got married when we were two. And if that's not enough, our first grandson is getting married in June.

As Judy Collins once sang, Who Knows Where the Time Goes?

There's a VERY SPECIAL EVENT coming up on Sunday, June 22nd.

As many of you know, I've been writing fiction for a long time, and just finished the audiobook for Calek's Tale Book Three, which should be up soon on Audible, Google Play, Spotify, and lots of other places. But before I wrote those books, I had over 50 stories published in various places around the world. Over ten of those stories were performed as staged readingS for One Night Stand Theater in Aurora, Colorado. Every few years, they do a whole evening of stories by one writer. This year, I was chosen for that honor and can't wait. They will be doing 5 of my tales, running the gamut from humorous, light horror, and sentiment. Some of my favorite Colorado actors will be doing them and my wife and I will be in the audience, with me coming up afterwords for questions and comments. My brother Don, who is a playwright, helped me adapt two of the stories as actual plays, so that will be something new and exciting for me.

THE BUCKSNORT SALOON IS RETURNING THIS SUMMER!
So many people in Colorado have been asking when I'm going to do more club shows locally so they can come and see my show. I'm at the stage in my life and career where I'm really picky about where I perform, and there just wasn't a place I was excited to play. That place was always the Bucksnort, which went out of business several years ago. But new owners have been busily spiffing the place up and getting it up to code for the county (A LONG , expensive, and time-consuming process). But it's almost completed, and I've been informed that I should get to play there this summer after they re-open, most likely in August after I'm home from Missouri. So STAY TUNED!!

Happy May from Picklehead!

Flowers are blooming (okay, mostly dandelions since we're at 7000 feet in the Rocky Mountains), deer and elk are happily munching on green grass out back, and the bears are out of hibernation. Yikes! But our favorite thing this time of year is when it's warm enough to open the windows and watch the critters gather around outside to listen to all the fun Picklehead music we play all day long.

It's the season of love...

Yep, we love stuff here at the Picklehead Mansion high in the Colorado Rockies. We love the beautiful white snow, the deer and elk wandering around out back, and those of us who are married love our wives and husbands. But what we REALLY love all year long is funny, acoustic, and variety music. Our unique selection has been making people happy since our founding way back in 1996.

This month we're featuring two albums that fit the Valentine's Day theme, namely...romance!

The first features hilarious songs from Sean Morey, a guy who started out with "The Man Song," poking fun at husbands who defer everything to their wives. This month's album is called "When A Man Loves A TV" and it continues his take on domestic bliss...well, sort of.

The second album is an unusual selection from the late great Ian Whitcomb, who recorded lots of albums of classic songs from the 1920's through the 1940's or so. Lots of lush instrumentation and music.

Now that the Holiday craziness has wound down, I've got some time to do more promotion on my Calek books. I do a LOT of listening to audiobooks, and I just found out that the audiobooks for first two books in the series are now up on our library for Jefferson County, Colorado, which is where I check out all my stuff. I'm sure they are also on lots of other libraries around the country and the world. If you're in Colorado and have an account in Jefferson County, here's the link to the first two audiobooks (we'll be recording Book Three this winter and spring).
