🌝 June 11th: a rare, low floating Strawberry Moon graces the horizon, the lowest full moon in nearly two decades
🌌 July 29-30th: the Southern Delta Aquariids scatter light across the desert sky with up to 25 fleeting trails per hour
☄️ August 12-13th: the Perseids, a brilliant cascade of summer’s brightest meteors take over the sky

Happy ! Here are just a few ways that JTNPA supports a STEAM-powered Joshua Tree National Park:

🧪 Science - Every year, we offer a scholarship to student scientists. You can learn more about this research and enjoy a slice of pizza at the FREE Slice of Science Lectures! Check it out at the link in our bio!

📡 Technology - This year, the desert tortoise was uplisted from threatened to endangered. The park uses JTNPA-funded tech to track tortoises and the threats that affect them.

🛠️ Engineering - Joshua Tree National Park sees more visitors every year! We fund critical infrastructure to help protect this resource and keep welcoming park lovers from around the world.

🎨 Arts - JTNPA funds a range of arts initiatives, including the Artist in Residence and ¡Artistas Afuera! programs!

🧮 Mathematics - As we learned at the Bighorn Benefit, monitoring bighorn sheep populations involves a lot of math, including counting rumps from helicopters.
